I have also been doing some consulting on the side and just about to start a company for it. I focus on helping small businesses starting up and also start credit building. Also restaurant consulting which my wife is also involved, she has spent her whole life in the restaurant industry and went to Johnson and Wales.

That sounds really awesome. I have been in the restaurant biz for most of the past 15 years, and was most recently the Ops Mgr for a restaurant chain. I actually *loved* working on inventory valuation and food cost analysis. Actually had a finance person from one of the larger food distribution companies actually approach me and want me to work for them.

For now.. trying to start my own business doing bookkeeping services down here in South Florida.. Most companies down here would rather you work as a contractor than hire you (they can bypass the benefits/unemployment/etc that way)

Full-service marketing and management company.

Grassroots of company started 10 years ago actually. Brother owned small sports management firm. Recruiting, scouting, contract negotiations, financial management, etc. Meanwhile, about 5 years ago I was introduced into the promotional modeling and event marketing industry. I moved back down south from NY for personal reasons, but jumped right into event marketing as a promotional model. Traveled the country for two years while soaking up all there was to know about the industry.

Long story short, I started my own event marketing company for local businesses, then eventually started staffing models and talent to work these promotional events. Submitted proposals to many larger companies with NO expectations of a response. Much to my surprise 2 of them did. They both gave little ole 1 man company me, short term marketing program contracts. A guy without a marketing degree! But presentation is everything! Anyway, 2 years ago my brother lost a few contracts from his athletes which is to be expected since he is what they call a sling agent, sports agents who help establish an athletes marketability before they leave for a bigger agent. But he lost a lot at once so we partnered up.

Now we offer business management, event marketing, web marketing, sports management, business marketing, model management, model staff, talent management, public relations, and more. This business credit stuff and personal credit is fairly new to me. But I've learned a lot over the past few months. All I've ever done was just work and make money to pay bills and save a little, then spend as i desired, but never knew I would be in business for myself one day or the important of obtaining and nurturing credit, business and personal.

Thanks for reading.

Ok.... How do I start...LOL :)

I have been in the Bar/Resturant industry for 12 years (Yes, I Love the SIN/Night crowd and my locations kick from 2am to 5am..lol) NOW..I usually open the bars/resturants then I build them up and sell them for profit. I also help newbies who THINK they want to be in the bar biz get started for a fee ;)

I am in Commercial RE. All of the Bar/Resturants (I own the commercial property) I just sell the biz so, they pay rent.

My Dh and I have a CPA firm staffed with 56 CPA's and 17 attorneys on staff! We handle ONLY Biz taxes and Biz Corps and etc.

12 years ago I started doing all of the commercials for my companies. So, that turned into me doing other commercials for other companies! The summer time picks up for me so I stay very busy with commercials and voice overs!

I am in the process of taking over a family owned biz, my grandfather wishes (we call him the GodFather) We have a mortage company that handlDED ONLY hard money lending in the past! We have tons of residential and commercial RE in Southeast region that we are collecting Rent and etc on. I know this biz like the back of my hand b/c it's family so.. enough said!

My number one Job and the one I enjoy the most is being a Mother :)

So, as you can see I stay VERY busy! I have a great staff for each location and that is crucial with everything I do! However, I am VERY hands on with everything I do!

Are you a CPA or Attorney?

Wonderful. Pretty interesting profession. Where can I learn more about this niche market?

The Green Movement has been around since America decided to create the National Preservation of Forest to save certain wildlife. Then you may remember "Save the Whales" movement. The commercial real estate have been in the forefront of recycling, solar and energy saving. You may now notice the clear air cars movement. So now the movement is moving towards the residential side of real estate. The world has changed but your house has not. As a California Green real estate professional I can guide you in your real estate transaction to save you up to 40% on your actual energy bills and get you up to $8000 in rebates while they last. Right now homes are being upgraded but not Green (Whole House) as in healthy. I can give you a home energy digest to get you stated. Where you interested in upgrading your current home or buy and make it Green?

I'm a start up only 2 paid jobs so far, 1 was for a RE developer at his home and the other was for an RE management company. they manage 60 homes from short to long term rentals.
I provide green technology solutions to odor issues.
so far both of the issues had been from a dog urine on carpet. I was able to eradicate the odor when 2 different carpet cleaning company's (both of my customers had used 2 different co's.) could not eradicate the odor.

the hardest thing I have is getting people to trust my solutions and getting the word out. 1 customer found me through the internet, my website using Google add words, and the other customer is a member of my local chamber of commerce (leads group) that I joined about a month ago.

so 2 customers in 2 months and 100% successfully eradicated their pet odors.

if anyone has any info where i can get some start-up grants for a green solution please pm me.

I stated my first business in High School 20 years ago. Good Ole 22" push mower,Slinging grass. That over the years has developed into 750 accounts at peak season.

Second business was started in 98. Basically creating sporting tournaments for cash prizes. If its a sport we are open to having a tournament. This winter we are setting up a 3on3 season tour that will offer 50k cash prize at the end of the season. Good times.

My third business I started in 2004 which is full service construction company/ mainly rehabs. Basically we repair distressed properties and then sell.

Its the short and sweet version.

I have a 16 yr old doing my lawn work I pay him well. Hope it's not so well he doesn't go after more business. He is learning building trades, works hard, is reliable, trustworthy (except for a few cut up $60 all weather extension cords, haha) and being afraid to tell me something is broken so I can get it repaired when he can't do it.

He will go far - he was deemed not smart enough for regular high school by our education system so is in alternative education. Well, they're wrong. He'll own a business, I predict. He can pay other people to do math. :D

I'd be interested to hear more about the startup process you went through. I'm being for real. It sounds interesting. I would have no idea on how that would all fall into place.
