Is there any way to have a CU report to all three CRAs when they've only reported to EQ. Since they are only reporting to one CRA it is causing my score at the other two CRAs to suffer. Anyone here had any luck in this situation?
You can't force a company to report to any of the 3 CRA's, it's their decision. However, you can call and ask if they report to all three CRAs or just EQ. Maybe there is a problem in reporting, or maybe they only report to EQ.

Just called...A very nice lady checked into it and was told they do not report because they do not have accounts with TU or EX. She said I could contact TU and EX and request that they review my EQ report but it likely wouldn't update unless I requested it. She said that in itself would be a shot in the dark. Oh well, I suppose that's what I get for putt all of my eggs in one basket for so long.

She doesn't know what she's talking about. TU and EX won't "review" your EQ report, and they certainly don't accept self-reported TLs. They will only report what is reported to them by the creditor. This is a classic case of "Hmm, I have no idea AT ALL, but this sounds like it SHOULD work, based on what I think would be logical instead of actual knowledge of the subject..."
The amount of bad advice given out by CU employees is really shocking.

Use your EQ report to your advantage.
Good luck!

I agree, but would not limit the bad advice coming from CUs. Pretty much any business dealing with credit, even mortgage underwriters, have no idea WTH they are talking about.

Lately, I have heard more than usual coming from CUs. Like the brochure they put out advising people to check their credit reports for old, unused accounts and close them to improve scores. WTF????
(And I certainly didn't limit the bad advice to CUs... only mentioned the bad advice coming from CUs because that's what this thread involved.)

Scary bad.
Oh and I believe they refer to these accounts as "unnecessary," too.

Also, does PenFed do a hard pull to join?
Yes, an EQ pull that is good for all other credit apps for up to 90 days. So you should app for a credit product after joining.

Be careful Penfed don't like Egyptians. Especially Egyptian bears.
But wait until I say the magic words!!! "OPEN SESAME!!!"
Works every time!!!

You can join either National Military Families Association ($20 one time donation) or Voice For America's Troops ($15 one time donation) to gain eligibility for PenFed.
Be forewarned though, PenFed has a reputation of being super-conservative (wanting high FICO scores, 720+), and wants to see decreasing balances on your credit report over the last six months (otherwise you will be labeled an Egyptian)

I thought balance histories weren't retained in the CR??? How will they know if they've been decreasing or if I just paid everything off last month???
