I disputed Capital One through the credit bureaus, and I've gotten the "We are unable to process your request to validate the debt with the information you provided." There were 9 other threads on the board that I could find dealing with this letter, but none of them really pertained or gave me an answer for my circumstance.

I'm wondering what the best way to respond to them is? Since they got my info from the CRA that they're reporting to, I'm not inclined to provide them jack. I'm in California, so I don't know if this is even a state that requires OC's to DV. I was thinking about responding with "you're the ones who are reporting it, why don't you figure it out." but thought there might be a better / more successful tactic to take with them. The debt is out of SOL, so I don't care about waking the giant.

Any advice is much appreciated!
