So I started my LLC in 12/2011 and got a HD ($3200) and Lowes($1000) business cards. The only other business card I appd for was cap1 sparks card but was denied. I got my DnB set up and listed my business in every 411 and directory I could about a month ago. So I appd for a US Bank business and citi business card like 2 months ago but said I was denied. Here yesterday I logged into my US Bank account online and under my accounts is a $1000 business cc! Not sure how this happened but I am definitely excited. I've ran up personal cards paying for materials for jobs and my personal credit score has taken a huge hit because of utilization. Hopefully I can get acouple more business cards to actually use my business cards for business and personal for personal. Just thought I would post my outcome. Also my person cs is around 620 cuz util but I have no lates or negs.

What industry is your business in? I would giess some form of construction if you have both a Lowes' and a Home Depot card? Have you any fuel or fleet cards? Usually gas cards and their ilk are thought of as steeping stones for everything credit wise.

I buy rental property and rehab. I buy them to keep as investments but I know alot of investors too. So I end up putting tenants in and having ppl wanting to buy them. I actually got a ford XLT F150 and a 14ft enclosed trailer for my bussiness but I haven't appd for gas cards. I def need them. Whats the easiest to get? I was thinking of shell but have no shell stations around.

Just keep in mind, US Bank does sue anyone who defaults, and they will try to get their money at a bk hearing. I'm not implying anything about the OP, just something I know from long experience on the board.

I don't know about others, but I just plan on any creditor who gets screwed over to try and get money by any means. Hell I would to. That's just me

When I worked for a large medical device manufacturer, I had a corporate US Bank card with a $50k limit. I know your situation is different but I would still suggest exploring a CLI with US Bank since they clearly have no problem going higher for card users that have variable purchasing. I remember having to explain to them that I occasionally had to buy 40-ton air handling units in the middle of the night and that the card wasn't just for purchasing office supplies. They were quite understanding. If they're willing to bump you up a bit, that might hold you until you can pick the right time to apply for additional lines of credit. Just a thought. Best of luck.

Fleet cards like a Jiffy Lube or a Pepboys are what I have plus a WAWA fleet Universal card. All are from Wright Express and it may take a bit to get more than one. They made me throw a grand deposit for a year on the Pepboys card after having a WAWA Universal for 5k and a Jiffy Lube for $750. Supposdly they also have a Gulf and Lukoil/Getty in their offerings.

Citi also gave me some cards like a Shell, followed by a Sunoco, and finally a Exxon Mobil.

Fleetcor also gave me a BP Fleet and a Citgo Fleet card.

Which ones are in your area?

90% of gas stations around me are circle k's. Acouple are locally owned ones like "Gas and Oil". There is a speedway and BP fairly close to the HD and Lowes I go to. I guess I could try those.

Hey Trubl82
You mentioned you have been tapping your personal CLs but how much willl a $1000 card help you in the forseeable future? Unless you get a lot of love by way of CLI in the near term will your situation change?

Also, i'm really interested in understanding how they just gave you a business card out of the blue. No PG? No credit pull? No recon?

Chances are almost all of the gas stations near you accept fleet cards by wright express, fleetcor or someone similar. The cards you use at gas stations don't have to be specifically branded for that station. Look on the accepted card list at the pump. I have. Ever seen a gas station that does not accept wright express fuel cards. Fuel cards that I have are listed in sig.

The 1000 is nothin but building business credit. I have personal navy, psecu, sdfcu, citi cards adding up to $73k. Plus some $5k cards. I have high util right now so prob y the low limit. They pulled a soft inq. On personal cr. cs is around 630 now but I have perfect history no negs. I called for cli and told them I just paid $16k on my cc's so my score would be higher and they told me to call back once they report and they'll see what they do. Ive had us bank for about 5 years now but opened up business account account months ago. Actually I got a denial letter a month ago but signed in to see the account. Must. Be cuz I'm running larger sums thru account now. Almost every a couple weeks I go to the bank, a day later I notice a soft pull on eq from them. I must be on there radar. Also I pay cash for houses that I buy and get my cashiers checks from them to pay title company. That prob sends a flag. I'm calling back on the second of July for increase and will update the thread.

So I got my card yesterday and the CL said $1500 but when I called in it said $1000 and online showed $1000. So I called them up and they said they had my CL at $1500 and that they would change it immediately to $1500. I called a few days ago to ask for a CLI cuz I just paid off another $6k in debt so my score went up quite a bit and she said once the balances update to call back and if my score has improve substantially they will give me increase. Well the balances updated so I'm goin to call up tom. Also I app'd for Wright Express and Amazon and they pulled TU but haven't heard from them yet.

Yea they pulled TU. I PG'd those accounts just to ensure approval. Not that I wouldn't get approved anyway, just wanted to make sure. Also I figured these will be my lowest account I'm sure in a few years. So it doesnt hurt to PG them. Then once I have more TL's and history on biz reports, I'll try for real lines of credit and I won't PG them. And by real I mean 10k and up.

if you have a credit card with a CU that is underwritten by ELAN, would getting one from US BANK be easier at all?

I don't think it would make the process easier, the 2 obviously are linked so that would help with the cross referencing aspect of the application process.
