50k offer works out better.

Maybe, but it appears that Citi has cleaned up all of the old 50K links. So, that deal is dead.

I was not aware of that. Thanks for letting me know. :D

Damn you Bob. Damn you.

I don't need anymore cards. I'm done apping. But something about this card...it looks so pretty. Why must I have it now?

Does it look good in person?

Main reason for TY Preferred (no AF) or Premier is for better redemption of Forward points.

Main reason for Premier is for airline miles earning, and better redemption.

Posted (edited)

So redemption value of TY points varies from card to card?

Are Preferred and Premeir the same redemption level or is Premier higher?

Are Preferred and Premeir the same redemption level or is Premier higher? Premier gives 30% discount on airfare redemptions

And earning potential is much higher for the low-redemption Forward. But since all the points go in the same pool, earn with one, redeem with another.

Interesting. I have the Forward. So far the only points I've redeemed was for an Amazon GC deal they had: $100 for 9k points. I got two. But I was very unimpressed with the rest of the redemption values. So this is good to know.

Adding this card to my "To Do" list.

Quadruple DAMN IT! I broke down and app'd, not necessarily for the bonus, but to work with my Forward's points. :blush2:

BTW, for those who travel overseas, make sure your Premier comes with the Global Capability Chip, GCC.

If it doesn't come as Chip & Sign, just call in and ask for GCC.

Congrats, BDK!

I'm WEAK! :cry2: I'm a sucker for bonuses, and all the talk about higher redemption on TYP was the icing...

Thank Hitman, I think I got Forward & Premier at the same time, so I never realized that there were different redemption levels till clutch pointed it out.

Look at what you've done Bob. :P

I went ahead, pulled the trigger. They tried to pull EX which is iced. I'm actually glad since I really need to let all my new cards age. I'll build up my TYP with my Forward and go for this when I want to redeem.

Good plan.

If you plan a long trip, though, getting 1 point for each mile flown adds up quickly. :D

Yeah I saw that but I thought it was only the prestige that had that perk (along with the not so complimentary $500 AF).

Are there any other cards that earn points for miles like that? (Obviously excluding FF programs)

I guess everyone believes all the 50k links are dead?

Well, if you see one, let us know? :D

Actually, the best offers are the specifically targeted 100,000 TY point Premier offers.

But the last one I saw was last year.

The one that comes close is the PenFed AmEx with 5% back.

DLG calculated that she got back more flying tourist with the miles, rather than using hubby's PenFed 5% AmEx.

They can't afford to fly 1st, unless I pay for it. :D
