Get your credit reports
To order, visit annualcreditreport.com,or call 1-877-322-8228
Yes, the Dr can assign you bills to a collection agency and they will then report on your credit reports.
Are we talking about a LOT of $$$ ?? Over $1,000??
If the Dr turns over the accounts and they start reporting you can try to get them deleted.
Did you have any insurance at the time??
Was this bill a co-pay?? Why didn't your insurance pay??
Contact your insurance Co. and get an EOMB ( explanation of medical benefits)
If your Dr didn't bill properly, or performed a service that wasn't allowed under your insurance you need to find out exactly what the situation was.
