Hello,

I received a call from someone saying they were from Allied Interstate, it sound like he was calling from was from a Indian call center because of his heavy accent. The person called when I was at work and called me on my company phone, he asked for me by my first name only and would only identify himself as Mohammad from Allied Interstate. I asked him who he was, why he was calling and who he was wanting to speak with. He said again he was looking for me (first name only), if I was living in a city in Washington State ( I am not, live in Alaska) and that he would explain more after I said I was so in so and living in Washington State. I told him no, explain to me now who you are and what you want, he said thank you and hung up.

I am sure they are calling for a debt from the mid 90's that use to be handled by Portfolio Recovery, I believe the debt was for around $400. Like I said, the debt is from the mid 90's and Portfolio Recovery use to send me stuff in the mail every once in the while about it.

The question I have is this: My credit scores are now in the low/mid 700's on all three reporting agency and I want to keep them that way. I have worked really hard to get my scores from the 500's to where they are now. Can this company do something on a debt that is over 15 years old to reflect negatively on my credit reports? Thanks for any help in advance...............

Welcome to CreditBoards! We hope that you find what you're looking for here.

Some helpful tips:

  • Your post may not get a reply right away. Don't be discouraged, this is a very busy board. If it falls off of the first page, feel free
to reply to your post yourself, with the word *bump* in the text. This will *bump* your post back up to the top of the board.
  • If you haven't yet, take a peek at out Newbies Section.
Everything that you need to know is in that forum, for the most part! It's a lot of reading, we know, but this credit stuff can have a steep learning curve. In no time, you'll be posting like the pros!
  • If you find that someone is discourteous to you, use the REPORT button at the bottom of every post - that will ensure that a moderator or admin looks at the post and decides if it is against the TOS.
  • Off -topic posts should go in the General Forum.

Again, welcome to the CreditBoards family!
