Any noticeable benefits oh master tinkerer? I'm also interested in knowing who allows it and how much they usually allow before they freak out. I overpaid $1 the wife's Discover and it amuses me every time I log in for some reason. :dntknw:

Main benefit is to control how many accounts report a balance.

I usually push over payments of a few hundred to cover stray charges.

PenFed is quirky in that push Bill Pay is by Paper Check.

BUT, you can push over payments from PenFed itself.

Citi will refund over payments VERY soon after statements close, by paper check.

Overpayments to Amex charge card are a device to quickly build your internal limit. Mine went from 3.5k to at least 70k in 2-3 months
