Sounds like what happened with me.

I had Sam's business & PayPal with GEMB when they denied me.

DW applied online and was TDed, Letter said they pulled TU and were unable to veify her idenity.

I applied in person and was also TDed, I have JCPenney and PayPal connect with them both low limits, but PIF every month. The thing that bothers me the most is they pulled EX.

What reason did they give you? I really just wanted the free FICO :cry2:

Unable to verify identity.

How the heck is that a decline reason with no option to resolve it?

Edit: Did they still pull credit?

EQ complete alerts don't show an inquiry yet. It does show the DCU inquiry (which was after Walmart). Nothing on MPM or USAA, but they are a bit slow. I'm resisting the urge to update my reports so I don't have softs to burn between B*.

The worst part is I finally unfroze EX last week so I would avoid any identity verification issues... doh!

Yeah, not thrilled. So I pulled a copy of EX and it looks like some creditors re-aged accounts last year at some point. I don't know if this is the issue but it's still inaccurate at best. I didn't notice it from the formatting of the monitoring companies. I'm working on a dispute letter now and will pursue the companies individually if it comes back verified. The good news is I get to use some "the Office" legal pads my wife got me a few years back. I never had a use for them before but I'll be playing hardball this time around. What I love is that it has a background picture of Steve Carell and has "That's what she said" printed on it.

Just remember that inquiries are still being held in databases that are not bumpable.

Isn't it only inquiries for Visa and MC applications that get retained in those databases?

I thought inquiries for CLIs, store cards, AmEx, Discover etc. were safe in that regard.

Yes, 1 CLI, of the 6 mentioned, would not be captured in other databases. ;)

I'm interested in finding out more about these Visa/MC inq databases. Could you provide more info? Couldn't find a thread on this. What account opening verification services will this affect?

Sorry to hear that :sorry:
BTW, I use LC to get my TU04, so you don't need Wally. You should be assured a denial from LC, and they SP. My stats (score, BK) are very close to yours.

Got my decline letter from GECRB/Walmart today. The sole reason was BK. <_< Totally perplexed now...

Update: I know GECRB doesn't do recons but I am trying a recon letter with GECRB anyway just for the fun of it. I was in a letter writing mood last week.

I'm still contemplating applying for the ELFCU card next week. I'll be checking here early Monday to see what others experienced. After that I might sneak in a NFCU CLI request and then I'll be forced into gardening mode. I plan to close my secured Visa afterwards too.
