My mom got knocked over and stomped on by a horse this afternoon. My sister took her to ER - they're pretty sure she cracked a rib, and may have damaged something in her knee or ankle (of her good leg, of course, because isn't that how it always goes?). Please say a prayer that the injuries are minor and that she heals quickly.

She runs a boarding stable. We handle 50+ horses every day. I'm not entirely clear on the sequence of events - my sister was a little stressed when she called to tell me what happened. Apparently she was turning out a horse - same routine as every single day - and today he decided he didn't want to go out. He's one of the barn's most Steady Eddie personalities, so it caught my mom totally off guard.Sending my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery. What happened? Did the horse get spooked?
