I do search before I post here, but for some of my questions, it is hard to find info. If I use specific terms, I may not get the right results, but if I use general ones, there are thousands of results.
1) I have a collection on my report from Pinnacle. The debt is listed as a "factoring company account." I do not believe that it is such an account. Is this grounds for deletion (a search of past posts revealed that some people think it is and some people think it isn't).
2) The account in question is an old VZW account. How does SOL work for international companies? Do I follow the law of the state I resided in at the time, or the law of the state I live in now? I lived in NY at the time, which has a 6-year SOL. Now I live in PA, which has a 4-year SOL.

I don't remember exactly where I heard this one from, but I believe that it goes by the SOL from the state that you accrued the debt in. Don't quote me on it though, I'm sure someone else here has better insight than myself on the matter.

It is listed as Pinnacle Credit Services. The DOFD was 9/2005, so the SOL has ended no matter which state they use to determine it.
The account is bogus anyway. It was an old Verizon account. I lived in NY at the time and, due to illness, had to move back to PA to live with my parents while I underwent two major surgeries. I was assured my cell service would continue to work in PA, but I did not get any service at the house or within two miles of the house. I had a Verizon tech working on my case and he finally said that I could cancel without an ETF since they couldn't deliver service as promised. The account on my report -- $153 -- is the prorated ETF.
