Sent re-insertion letter to EQ. Got a response today saying the disputed accounts (there were 2) are not currently reporting on my credit file.
Looking further at the billing statement of all my charges back in 2009 from this same clinic, it seems what the clinic did when they didn't receive payment, was to send 3 different amounts to CA: 2 from one doctor for $12.50 and $12.90 and one from another doctor at the clinic for $40.80. THREE collection accounts from ONE clinic, under ONE ACCOUNT, totalling $66.20!
All these amounts were paid off in January 2012 before knowing about and starting this HIPAA process. It seems that when I sent out the pre-HIPAA to EQ, they had only 2 accounts showing: one for $12 and then they seemed to have combined the other 2 amounts totally now $53. The pre-HIPAA deleted these out right away, but then the CA added an entry for $13, with a different account number.
I pointed out the shenanigans to EQ, and you see their response.
Should I just go ahead and send medical DV to CA?
