Vacation Budget

My fiance, myself and 3 children will be taking a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC in August. I haven't been on a vacation for at least 6 years. We will be driving and calculate that gas will cost us about $400 round trip. We will be staying in a family condo and the condo will be free for us to stay in. For 2 out of the 7 days we will be driving to and back so there will be 5 days of outings and beach activities. What is a realistic budget for us to consider so we can save the money and pay cash. I was thinking that it would run about $1400 total?

Well what are you doing for food? Are you planning on eating mostly at the condo or at restaurants?

Well the first 3 days of the trip we are staying with family so we will be chipping in for groceries. Thurs - Sat we will be at the beach so we will probably be eating out more then. Sunday we will be driving home so probably fast food at rest stops during the drive.
