I got in after getting my member number from the nice online chat lady early this morning...but I will tell you all what I figured out...your Username cannot contain EITHER (not sure which) a portion of your ss# or your last name. Until I changed my desired username from having either of those options in it (which let's face it, is dumb anyway), I couldn't get the online banking set up. As soon as I figured it out, I set it up very easily! DUH me.

What about your first name? Wonder if that's where I'm going wrong. Did you get Sharon M. on the live chat? She's awesome.

Hi new elfies. I've been busy today but it appears so have the elves at ELFCU!

Didn't I say their customer service was awesome and friendly? They're really a great CU - for all the new elfies I think you'll enjoy them very much.

For the person upthread who said their online system is weird the way it comes up in a new window, yeah, it is but they're a 100% legit EXCELLENT CU (even if they could use a better web designer )

Just app'd for joint membership with DW and a used car loan. Scores are in the low-mid 600's for both of us depending on the CR. Got the app emails. Waiting patiently till tomorrow for the others. One thing I found odd was there was no place to put myself as a full-time student :dntknw: Hopefully the "unemployed" status doesn't prevent us from the car loan. DW does has a full-time job with an income we survive on. Not great but it pays the bills...

Decided to get in on the ground floor of this CU. They seem to be getting positive reviews from CB members who've had contact with them. I apped joint with DW and mainly because they don't pull a hard for membership and we're in the end stages of our mortgage.....I got email that said our app is "Pending" which I'm assuming from what I've been reading is a normal part of the process. I funded the Think Big Chkg ($50) and the Savings ($25) with my NFCU Checkcard.......

Once we close on our house, which should be at the end of May of beginning of June, we'll probably app for their CC's. I've been on an app hiatus for almost 4 months now because of the mortgage and it's KILLING me!!!!!! :cry2:

Hopefully this will be one of the "have to have" CU's. Currently member of NFCU,USAA, NASA,PENFED,ALLIANT and State Department....really only active with NFCU and USAA with NFCU being our primary for our chkg and Credit products....

Looking forward to hearing how they are as far as CC limits and scores....

I'm such a CU whore!!!!.....

I should be closing on a home loan this week. I am waiting, because am just way too paranoid that I will somehow be the only person to get an inquiry from joining.

Well, after reading the responses on this thread, I decided to apply. BEFORE I applied I called customer service and asked a very nice gentleman, Cameron, if they pull a credit report and if they use Chexsystems. He said NO to both of them.

So I applied, answered some verification questions, then received an application confirmation number, and a notice telling me that I will be contacted by a member of their staff for further details.

I funded my accounts using my NFCU check card and printed out the signature card to mail and sign.

I called this morning to make sure I did everything properly and Celeste said they were backlogged (imagine that), but I will get my login information by the end of the day. :clapping:

You go girl. :dance::)

I have hope again. If no Chex, then I should be ok. And that would make that applicant that was denied for "something on Chex".. an isolated experience, as it would no longer make logical sense. (Recon?)

Now I wonder why they are backlogged...:rofl::rofl:

I was able to sign on this morning and set up online access. Transfers in and out seem to be a snap. Was surprised to find $5.00 in my money market (?) savings account that I never put there, I'm assuming when my checking deposit shows up, it will be $5.00 short. i wonder why it even let me open savings with $0 if there is a minimum deposit (which I didn't even think about, though I'm assuming it's the standard share requirement). Seems like a decent credit union, and I'll be using it for more than I thought I would. Definitely a keeper!

PS: Does anyone know if you can email them a PDF of the signature card?
