Has anyone dealt with CBV Collection Services? I am curious because they state there is a debt that my husband owe's but they keep calling my father-in-law's phone number looking for him and I've told them that is the wrong phone number to please stop calling. I have had as little as 12 calls in one day from them and as many as 21 calls from them in one day. It is no joke. I took the pictures of the caller ID to prove it. Does anyone know or have a link to what is legal as far as phone calls are concerned? Also, I would like to know how they came to the amount that they have stated? Is there a letter that I can send? Just need some guidance if anyone can help. Father in law certainly doesn't need this harrassment!

Thank you for any help or advice :)

Registered mail to the collection agency saying you want no further communication from them unless by registered mail, and that you dispute the debt and if there is any alleged debt that it be dealt with in court.

If they still call after receipt of the registered mail, you can sue them. There's no FCRA or FDCPA in Canada which protects consumers, but you can always claim harassment in small claims court as well as loss of time due to harassment and try it that way.

Do a search for collection agency law (and your province).
