My Credit Report shows a different account number than the actual one I have with the company. Even more they changed their names a few names ago. So I have 3-4 lates (60, 60, 90 and I think a 90 or a 120).

Ultimately I want to get rid of the lates. They aren't my fault and were around when I had a forbearance. The lending/servicer refuses to remove them. So can I get rid of this otherwise?

The accounts are still live, should I pay them off first?

like I said good luck with this one. CRA and Student loans are hard to figure out. It's almost as if they are operating under different laws. I have loans that are triple reported and still showing late even after consolidation 2 times from 1999

They're still being reported from 1999 with lates? They can't anymore!

The account numbers have been going through changes recently to enhance security/identity protections, so I don't think you'd have a leg to stand on. Names can change as well. If you have PROOF that you were in forbearance at the time and they are reporting lates, you can contact them and let them answer your evidence. If you don't have proof, you are outta luck. Student loans are a whole other animal and it is illegal for them to GW them off as they have very stringent reporting standards.

Don't I have a position to say they have to prove I was late? I've sent them letters regarding these errors and they haven't responded. In addition, the account number from their statements has been the same for 7 years... just its a different number on my report. My proof is from letters that I sent. These goobers never seem to send me a thing. Don't they need to send me proof? I blame their staff for sitting on this info... they changed the name of their "company" so likely a new associated screwed up. Can't I squeeze these guys through the BBB or FTC?

Unfortunately, the letters YOU have sent are not proof. You would need your notice of forbearance to prove that you were, indeed, not liable for the payments on the given dates they are reporting. Billing statements, anything along those lines?

They never send me crap. Just phone calls. Can't I just jack attack this or just keep hitting it over and over and over and over and over and over again until they either give up or yield?

I have the same problem, I tried disputing the CRAs but they keep saying the later have been verified. I call my loan company and they keep saying they are waiting for the CRAs to contact them. I tried looking up the Jack Attack letters but I couldn't find any that apply to incorrect student late payment reporting
