Quick question. We are presently attacking our living room table. It looked like a landfill. And, sure enough, on it.. I see the mail that was brought over from the other house.

I have 4 days to pay my HESAA bill of $156. Its due March 15th. Tomorrow is mailing day. Tomorrow is March 12th. The payment mailing address is in Newark NJ. That will get there same-day/one day. I -THINK- that what happens is that that is a PO Bx "Drop box" that then gets re-mailed to Trenton NJ (?) and I have noticed payments take "about a week" after dropping them in the mail to show as taken from my bank account.

Should I seriously Overnight mail this payment to the "4 Quakerbridge Plaza Trenton, New Jersey 08619" address?

I see the following:

Under "Loan Payoff and Payment addresses"

Defaulted Federal Loans

HESAA

PO Box 528

Newark, NJ 07101-0528

Employer Garnishment Payments

HESAA

PO Box 529

Newark, NJ 07101-0529

Driving Directions

4 Quakerbridge Plaza Trenton, New Jersey 08619

So im glad i caught this in time, but.. Do I have enough time. I am also rehabbing my loan..

What would you do, this time, if me?

I would call them first thing in the morning and ask them. I know with Direct Loans there is 20 days leeway - "To rehabilitate a Direct Loan, you must make at least nine (9) full payments of an agreed amount within twenty (20) days of their monthly due dates." Maybe there's something like that for HESAA?

Thank you jaybee, LYNNINMN. (It just auto-capped I'm sorry.) I weighed all my choices and I mailed it out to-day, normal mail, first collection from main post office. Newark (zip 07101) is 15 minutes (20 minutes the long way) from zip 07002. Should get there same day, or next. Then, even if it is a drop-mail.. its Trenton.. not far. (NJ is small ok.) So I MIGHT be ok.

And if it posts AFTER the 15th? Well.. I think Rehab says I can miss a month? :dntknw:

I am actively involved in credit repair, but this timeframe of paychecks causes issue, every time. And I get paper checks.. so I mail paper check payments.

Ever tried to get NJ HESAA on the phone? Ill take my chances with mail. :)

No need to spend $18+ when 44¢ does the same here...

To anyone that may be reading, I would like to update: I received my billing statement back today. Turns out that the payment was listed as received ON the 15th; So, mailed the 12th one bordering zipcode and a bridge over, then drop-mailed to Trenton (Central NJ) on Monday A.M. early mail dispatch, it was processed and applied ON the due date. This using regular mail; $.44 vs $18.50.

My Rehab payments have officially not been disrupted, and are still "voluntary, timely and consecutive."

Thank you.
