So as I sit here. Digitizing our financial records from hard copy.........finally...my hand is killing me.
*takatakatakatakatakatakataka tak*
so here is what I don't understand. Why, precisely, isn't there a backspace key for the number pad so you don't have to stop, hit the backspace key, and then resume typing every time you fatthumb or invert a number. This isn't a big thing, but in this kind of data entry the only relevant keys are the numeric keys... and after the 10th time, it gets old.....I should have brought in my usb #pad. It has a backspace key...I don't know why other keyboards cant have a backspace key..sigh..well... that's Mar-2k11 done, so at least it will properly check against Mar-2k12. Think I'm going to go ahead and start updating Jan and Feb 2k12.
The software we are using has a 2 garbage calculators <that I have noticed so far>...I hope we don't lose all the data I've been working on when it gets patched. That would make me unhappy. I spent all last night checking figures till I nailed down what was wrong with the thing and left a note to the boss so he wouldn't have to figure it out. I told him to tell his software guy that I expect to be compensated for beta testing his software. (followed by "just kidding"..."maybe".)
What's really frustrating is that we are doing this to eliminate paperwork. But they haven't told me what to do with the reports we had been printing out. Presumably they still want us to do something with them...I recommended that we burn them on an alter while chanting the names of heathen gods, but that wasn't too well received...excuse me, I flop. *thud*
