Ok. So I received a call today from a CA about some recent (within the last 3 years) medical collections. I asked for them to send me something at which point they said they did, in December.

I received nothing. They are asking me to come to their offices (they are local) and pick up a print off. I think I finally got them to agree just to mail it to me.

Here is my concern. The guy mentioned the next step being suing me several times. It is only about $1,800 but I absolutely cannot pay for this right now. I just took a huge pay cut and am still readjusting my budget, etc. If I am sued, I will be screwed.

I am willing to work out some payment if I can but right now my concern is that if I do the Hippa path, etc that will prompt them to file. Any ideas?

I am in Oregon if that makes any difference.
