So I just found out that I am permanently banned from myfico forum for posting a link to here that has the list of credit unions compiled by BobWang (thank you for the list by the way).

I hope you don't mind that I shared the link. I really don't want to get banned from this site either Posted Image

I was just trying to help a fellow member at myfico find out about some awesome credit unions but obviously its against their policy to share this site because it's considered a "credit repair site"

I thought I was doing a good deed helping someone but I guess the MODS at myfico really hate creditboards and don't want myfico members to know about this wonderful community.

Were you ever warned before, or was it your first strike and then you were perma-banned?

I actually joined over there for a bit before I discovered CB. I don't want to start a comparison but I'll just say I'm more pleased with CB.

FWIW, a lot of forums are not tolerant of linking other sites, especially competing sites, for various reasons.

One time last year for linking to this site to help someone resolve issue with LVNV. When I posted the link today to the list of credit unions it didn't dawn on me that I was doing something bad. Not even an hour later I got the dreaded "you are permanently banned" for repeated violations. Funny how the mod (fused) claims it to be repeated violation. The incidents are completely different and even though it ended up being the same site, the context of what I was linking to was not in anyway illegal or unethical by any standards.

They did you a favor. That place is worthless anyways. It's full of countless threads of people celebrating that they were approved for a $200 Capital One card.

It'll save you some bandwidth that would be better used elsewhere.

Yikes! I used read the forums over there, until I saw advice being given (and seconded, and thirded) that all CREDIT CARD inquiries in a 14-day period only count as one, and that hard inquiries only hurt up to a certain number; after that, they don't count against your scores at all... so app away! Then I realized it was probably not worth my time. They seem to be nice enough folks over there, but I didn't see the level of knowledge I see here. Sorry they did that to you, though.

Haha you are right about the Capital One complaints...probably more of them than there are about First Premier or Orchard who are evil compared to Capital One. People complain about a small AF with Capital One yet at least half of those people at one point had a FP or Orchard with outrageous AF and maintenance fees.

I'm just bummed for now Posted Imagebecause I am an established contributor there or probably say was since I can longer contribute there.

I have to agree! Posted Image With the knowledge shared by fellow members here I was able to improve my credit in a short period of time. I only wish I had known about this site years ago.

I just went there out of curiosity, and I saw a lot more AmEx, Discover, Chase, Bank of America, NFCU and PenFed-type posts than there used to be... I too remember it as being mostly Orchard, First Premier, Capital One etc.-oriented. I guess the advice has gotten better since I last visited!

MyFico.com has made a ton of money off people from this forum so they should not have a policy for their own forum that prohibits links to this site, which gives them a huge amount of free advertising. How many posts are there from members here telling others to get their scores from MyFico.com and nowhere else? MyFico should love this forum! Maybe it's just the mods there that hate Creditboards.

Try talking about "Bumpage" over there. Not only do they make it sound like a crime they give false advise saying it doesnt work.

They must think we do some things right. They COPIED my Auto Approval thread verbatim.

And

They didn't even ask!

I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
