Hit it last night on my cashRewards Visa trying to go from $17k to $25k. Got the 3-5 day message. Probably because I got the card about a month or so ago and I haven't used it yet.

Maybe you didn't. You didn't get declined automatically right? It will just go to committee and probably will be approved. Think positive.
Good luck

I'm pretty sure it will get approved. I just thought I could get an increase for the modest amount without the hard. I should have asked for more to make it worthwhle. I guess I just needed a credit junkie fix. Nothing like hitting the button and being instantly approved. :D

This thread finally got to me. Hit the CLI button yesterday. Got the 3-5 day message and an HP on TU today. I was prepared for the HP but was hoping it would be on EQ because I'm about to B* EQ anyway.

Oh well now hopefully it gets approved.

Bah.. This thread makes me want to try too!

My limit is 3500 and I just recently paid the entire balance off so its sitting pretty with a 0 balance at the moment. Ive had the card since 2010.

Should I pull the trigger?

Still haven't heard anything. I was going to call them to ask about it. Will a CSR be able to tell me anything or will they just say wait for the 3-5 day letter?

I still havn't heard anything yet either but when I look at my current limit on the account, it has been increased. Have you looked at your limit lately?

So I hit the button yesterday and asked to increase my limit from 3500 to 12000. Got the 3-5 day message :(

Checked my account this morning and BOOM! New limit of 12000! No hard pull either. Its my highest limit to date so Im extremely happy. And to think in 2010 I got approved for the Best Buy MC with a 100 limit which eventually increased to a whopping 400 lol.

NFCU rocks!!!!

Call :)

So I called and found out I got declined, which was a downer.

But then I realized that this board has taught me more than that and simply moping about my new inq and decline wasn't enough. The free TU FICO with the decline wouldn't do either. So I researched here and found you can recon by secure message so I did.

And success! My failure turned into a 1k CLI with some extra work and the hard pull.

I also tried when I shouldn't have, and got the 3-5 day message. Declined. We have had the card for 7 months w/perfect history and our credit is better now than when we got the card. They list BK as the number 1 reason for denial. I never expected that, from Navy, especially since nothing has changed about that since getting the card... So, I reconned by secure message. I rebutted each of their reasons for denial, told them how much we love them and their card, told them we want to do a lot more BTs and use the card more, but the tiny limit is preventing that, pointed out our perfect history with them and how we've been trying to use the card in many different ways to show we can be responsible with it, told them we'll be buying a house in a couple of months and hope to use their card for appliances and home-improvements instead of getting a store card. It's been about 36 hours with no response and no change. Fingers still crossed.

Here is their response: "After a review of your nRewards MasterCard account, your request for reconsideration has been declined. Our decision to disapprove your increase request was based on information reflected on your Credit Bureau Report. A letter was issued on 21 February regarding this matter. Please advise us if you have not received this letter. Thank you."

I specifically requested they pull the report again to show the only thing I thought they might be worried about had been removed. I was hoping that would be good enough. They won't repull it. I'm confused. I think I'm the ONLY person on CBs that I've ever seen be completely denied, even after
recon. I'm REALLY bummed. Is there any response to this that might change their minds?

Can you have the report re-sent to them? I know I've seen some mention from the CRA's along the lines of "if your dispute results in deletion of the account, you can request to have an updated copy of your report sent to lenders who have requested your report in the last ## days."

Ooh, yeah, I'll try that call, to EQ on Mon. Any other ideas? Can I just let them know that I've requested an updated copy be sent to them and I'd appreciate them to take a look at it when it arrives and think about it again? Or do I just B* the INQ again and wait to try again another day (and how long? 'til 12 months of activity on the card?)?

I'm definitely not the right one to advise you on NFCU specifics (but fingers crossed, I just apped for DH), but I'd probably first ask EQ if they would re-send it, and I don't know if I'd recon before or after getting the denial letter. Maybe both?

I just pulled my EQ address dispute results up and sure enough, here is the language at the bottom:

Notice to Consumers

You may request a description of the procedure used to determine the accuracy and completeness of the information, including the business name and address ofthe furnisher of information contacted, and if reasonably available the telephone number.

If the reinvestigation does not resolve your dispute, you have the right to add a statement to your credit file disputing the accuracy or completeness of theinformation; the statement should be brief and may be limited to not more than one hundred words (two hundred words for Maine residents) explaining the nature ofyour dispute.

If the reinvestigation results in the deletion of disputed information, or you submit a statement in accordance with the preceding paragraph, you have the right torequest that we send your revised credit file to any company specifically designated by you that received your credit report in the past six months (twelve months forCalifornia, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey and New York residents) for any purpose or in the past two years for employment purposes.

I asked for a CLI from $10,000 to $15,000 on Sunday and it was instantly approved. No HP. My account was open for 12 months and I've never asked for a CLI before.

I asked them to pull again, they said they wouldn't. I sent them a new copy myself, they said their decision stands. I'm not sure why they hate me, but they clearly do (this was our second decline for this tiny increase). I won't put all my eggs in their basket anymore... Glad everyone else is having luck.

I tried again and this time it was the 3 to 5 day.
They called me this morining and verified some info
and told me I need to unfreeze. I told them thanks but
no thanks. I will have to live with the 9,000 I have.
I don't think they will give me much more anyway due to
low income. Started with 4,000 in '10 CLI to 6,000 in
'11 then a month later to 9,000 with no HP.
Good Luck to all!
