Years ago (2003-ish), I lived in US and had Amex which went unfortunately went unpaid before I left. Now I'm in Canada and thinking of getting a card and want to apply for Amex with my Canadian SIN# So I'm wondering:
Does Amex have 1 or 2 separate databases for US & Canada?
If 2, do they reference your name across both?
Or should I avoid Amex @ all costs to prevent restarting statute on old debt?
Thanks!
Does Amex have/check diff databases for US & Canada?

Post your question in the main credit forum also. I think there are some AmEx people who can give you an idea whether they do or not. Knowing AmEx in general, they would probably have it cross-referenced.
