Has anyone confirmed whether or not they have reinstituted asset requirements or made it "invite" only again? Supposedly happened very recently

I have heard the same. I hope it is true.

Received my JP Morgan Palladium plastic card today and it is the same as the JP Morgan Select card as pictured on the chase website.

why did you want the lowbrow edition?

Airport magnetometers pickup the card in your wallet -- so you have to leave your wallet in a bin. I'm not a huge fan of that. I carry both.

BTW, when I recently receive the plastic edition of my Pd cards it arrived in the smaller, yet plush, box as recently photographed in this thread; not in the supra-prime-plus box my original Pd cards arrived in. There was also a meager booklet describing the benefits; not the huge hard cover tome I received with my original cards.

ETA: the plastic version is really really pretty. I like the color and fonts. Is this the same design as Select?

As you know the primary Palladium program card is metal, and there is a 'backup' or 'secondary' card you can request for various purposes. Some people choose to use the metal version at places where they feel comfortable it wont be flashed around or pictures with their information photographed by cell phone for example. And they choose the plastic version in places where the card will be taken and swiped 'out of sight', like at dinner, etc.

The secondary card comes from the Select Program. It's the Select program's primary card. Its plastic but has a custom finish/texture.

Alot of people, cashiers, waiters, servers, etc have been known to snap a pic of the palladium card cause its 'cool'... but that pic can quickly make the rounds on the internet and turn into a nightmare for the cardholder.

thanks on confirming the stock and design are Select. If I downgrade I'll still be pleased with the aesthetics.

I decided to get the plastic cards issued after one too many "hey Marge come check out this guy's credit card!!!! " at restaurants, etc.

If it's true that Chase is requiring PB for future applications, I hope this doesn't mean that they will take away my card! (or others who currently do NOT have PB with JP Morgan)

I hope it's not. I also hope they would stop lowering your credit limit and not contaminate your purity with each new approval.

I know. the fluoridation is nothing more than a plot to ruin our precious bodily fluids!!!

if I get 86ed for not being PB I'll ask to downgrade the line to Select. If that is refused, I'll ask to move my limit to CSP. I am not going to cry over any unwind that occurs.

LOL @ fluoridation :)

I doubt they will ever give grief to existing card holders, if they see good card management.

On another note from this thread... I had a visit with a Chase Private Client rep today... The entry point with Private Client is 100K (put plan into place to get you to 250K)...and it will also get you the Palladium.

100K will get you into Chase Private Client...but it is a conditional deal where after a certain amount of time (1-2 years I think) you ahve to be at 250K. Said the Private Client starts at 250K and goes to 5 Mill...at the 5 Mill point you move to JP Morgan...said that Private Client is a gateway offering to get people to JPMorgan

exactly. Private Client is still Chase.

Did the rep says what form the 250K has to be in? could it be a brokerage account or does it have to be (low APY) savings/checking/certificates?

Said the 250K can be brokerage account, checking, savings, cds...Just not mortgages. And the accounts (obviously) have to be with Chase.

Just a quick update on here as well.

I've had the application for a few weeks now but have been hesitant on sending it in.

I decided to return my completed app this morning to the lady I was dealing with previously. Called their hotline a few hours later and it says "Congratulations .. Your application has been approved, gives my credit line info etc .." ... so it looks like it's a GO !!!!

No PB relationship here, but I did inquire about that and was told as of May they are making changes to the requirements for the card.

It looks like the PB requirement is not (yet) a firm requirement as I was just approved today. However, perhaps my case is a little bit different as I established interest in the card and they had taken some of my information down before they implemented the changes?

Hi There,

I received an application for the palladium card but for some reason I can't find the fax number anywhere on the application. Can someone please private me the fax number they used to submit their application?

thanks so much.

I just wanted to say hi to you all. I just applied for this card yesterday.

The rep i spoke with was very kind and emailed me the application. I filled it out and faxed it over at the end of the day. I received a phone call this morning telling me that they are reviewing my application now. I was told it may be a possibility that I will receive my card on Friday if I get accepted. Fingers crossed...

877-576-2828 is the number I was given last year, but IMHO you should call and verify this before faxing your sensitive data. good luck!

I am pretty sure IRAs count as well...as long as they are managed by Chase. IRAs are out for me due to some tax constrainsts but they also wanted to talk about annuities and college funds for my family so I assume that IRAs would definitly count. Said that the private client is the most targeted segment right now...much more so than the ultra high worth crowd according to rep. Apparently Chase is opening private client "stores" all over the country. I am expecting that for people in this income range we will see some nice bidding action for our accounts. Keeping my eyes open for the best deals / service...

thanks for the info. I've read the chase is ramping-up its private client network. I local branch manager (not a PC rep) called me a month or so ago offering me $$ and his time to open a chase checking account. He mentioned that he'd like to talk to me about IRAs, annuities, etc. I figured it was just a sales call. I don't need a 1099 for the $$$ from opening a checking account. He seemed confused when I mentioned PC and the Pd credit card, but that PC folks regularly come to town and meet with clients and that he could arrange a meeting. I figured he did not know a lot about PC because the chase branches here are old Wachovia branches.

have you looked into CITIGold? I thought about going with Citi, but the Pd card experience has made me more interested in chase PC.

I have noticed that the Chase staff have no clue about the Private Client stuff...seems to be completely seperatly managed
I looked at CitiGold online...havent talked to them yet. My issue with Citi is that there isnt any local branches...I have a huge multi story Chase location one block from office. Let me know if you have thoughts on Citi though...they are offering 400.00 just for opening a gold accoutn right now..

Im not a fan of Chase retail banking, but Private Client is a really good program. PC is better then Citigold or HSBC Premier because you get more benefits. PC has a Relationship Manager, special underwriting department for PC clients, expanded lending guidelines, entree to JP Morgan Investments, lots of free banking services, and access to premium cards, including PD.

Here is a link:
https://www.chase.co...investments.htm

The entry point is $100K but you need to bring it up to $250K. IRA and other retirement accounts can be included.

I received one as well, very big and well put together. The gift card was $1,000 but I doubt anything in the catalogue is less than $20,000. I have had the card for six months but have put a lot on the card during that time.

It was a $1000 gift card, no min purchase which is nice. But like was mentioned, I'm sure everything is really expensive there. I've been a card holder since March. I did put a lot of flights on the card in the first month, so that might be part of it.

On a side note, over on FT, people are saying United Club membership is now available to card holders if you call and ask for it. Anyone try that recently?
