Last question! Are you totaling up all your limits and then calculating what 3% would be and charging up to that each month? Or do you do no more than 3% per card? Little confused on this. I don't want to go over 3% utliization but I want monthly activity showing on 1 card.

ANY activity on one card is enough to maintain my FICO score.

It's when I let it go to 0%, or 10% that I get a ding.

I have well over a million in credit card limits, so 3% would mean letting ~$40k balance report.

Haven't done that in a LONG time. :P

Last new account was Wally Discover in July, 2011.


If you can hold off opening any new accounts through July 2012, it would be interesting to see if you scores get a bump due to no new opened accounts in the last year.

Did you manage to get through January without applying for a replacement AMEX card?

Yup, July, 2012 is also special in that July, 2010 was my last Experian inquiry.

So, July, 2012 will be when I hit a year of no apps.

Aug, 2012 should be when I am TOTALLY inquiry-free on all 3. :D

2 Experian inquiries dropped off this morning, having hit the first full weekend of month 25.

Leaves me with 0 Equifax, 1 Experian, 1 TransUnion.

PLUS FAKOS went from

Eq 795, Ex 783, TU 790

to

Eq 795, Ex 787, TU 790
