Debt was being reported by all three CRA's last Spring. I sent a DV to the CA (this was prior to my understanding of WhyChat's HIPAA process) and they sent validation of the account.

I sent the HIPAA letter to the original healthcare provider with insert "a" and a money order for payment in full.

I verified that the money order had been "cashed" by the OC.

I then sent the pre-HIPAA dispute to all three CRA's. Two deleted the entry. The matter was "verified" by Equifax, although some serious reporting errors are on the listing.

In an effort to obtain a deletion from Equifax, should I now send the (new) Alt Medical DV letter to the CA?

I realize that I did this a$$backwards. It was after this happend that I finally went through and made myself typed instructions with all of the steps with samples of the letters. Now, with all of the changes to the letters due to the ARRA and HITECH, I'm going to have to make myself a new step-by-step chart ;) .

Thanks, whychat (and BonBon) for your letting us test the limits of your patience. I know it doesn't seem that difficult to comprehend, but with so many different types of problems on my and DH's reports, it's hard to keep all of the processes straight.

Thank-you for your earlier kind thoughts! I am sorry I never responded, but the chaos in our home, just seems to be common place these days.

Depending on how the medical collection is reporting (PAID or UNPAID) your next step would be the medical DV:

http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html#PAID

As soon as you have the green card back from the medical DV then send follow-up dispute to Equifax.

You also included a copy of the medical DV and a copy of the green card with the F/U dispute to Equifax.

Now, it's hurry up and wait!
