Hey all!

First off, I must thank you guys for the valuable information.

My story is, I had a total of 4 bank accounts go bad. BECU (kicking myself in the flowers for that, they were great, paid them off but they won't open a new account), BOA (promotional thing, never even used the card but some monthly fee overdrew me), WF (same as BOA) and USBANK (same thing again)

I was kind of a sucker for signing up those back accounts, not using them or funding them and then being hit with OD fees for the monthly Geronimo they charge..

I went down to Chase and got an Access account almost two weeks ago. I read about the EWS thing, and called them. I have 1 record, so I'm expecting chase to shut me down anyday (going to clean the account out tommorow)

I read about CitiBank, and did the app online. I guess I was approved because it asked me to fund the account. Will they close this account like Chase?

I just need a stable bank for 6 months, because I need 6 months bank statments in order to file a Ch7 BK.

I used MCA's website, but most banks are far, or they turned me down :(

Have you tried an out of state bank or an account at Fidelity? What is your zip code?

I can tell you that

1. No chase should not shut you down if the account has been opened more than 2 weeks. They would already have ran the EWS

2. Citibank seems to be working for most and no one that I know of is being closed once it is opened. It seems that you are denied from the start if they are not going to give you an account.

-Do you know if fraud or suspected fraud is indicated on your report?

98006 is my ZIP

This monday will be 2 weeks since I opened Chase.

I have a copy of my ChexReport (courtesy of Seattle Metropoliation Credit union who says they will open a bank for people on Chex, but they won't...) and all my accounts are labeled "Account Abuse"

My Chex has every bank, minus BECU listed. I have no idea what EWS has on it as I haven't gotten my report.

I really think your account at Chase will be fine but if you I can tell you that 1st Security Bank Of Washington

http://1stsecurityofwa.com is an excellent option there and they do not use chexsystems at all, they only use telecheck. Going by the banks that are reporting you, I would not believe that you are reproted to telecheck. The reporting banks in your situation all report to chexsystems and ews.

Another good option there is an account at Fidelity

You can apply online and you do not have to open an investment account to get it. It does come with checks, a gold debit Mastercard, bill pay options and direct deposit.

All ATMs are reimbursed and FREE!

If you appply online now, your debit card should be there in about 7 days.

I also have the account abuse on my Chex report from back of America... I just got turn down by the fairwinds credit union here in Florida ...because of the BOA entry... does anyone know of any no chex banks in Florida.. 32828 is the Zip code

If you are not reported to Early Warning Services then I would try the nearest Regions Bank. They only use EWS now, not chexsystems.

Also there is CFE Federal Credit Union http://mycfe.com/

.. they do not use chexsystems but they do use Decision Power and run a credit report.

Fairwinds used to be on my list but they have since been removed because they now use chexsystems instead of telecheck.

I applied for a Citibank EZ Checking account yesterday. I"m assuming it was opened, because they asked me to fund it, which I did. I was really surprised since I have bad credit and I have multiple entries in chexsystems from a few years ago when I was young and didn't know better. If my account was really opened, I will be very grateful to Citibank, and will be very careful to never overdraw again.

It seems that some are being approved while others are approved and later closed. Don't trust the account for at least a few weeks to make sure it stays open

Just an update, I got a letter from Citibank today that my application wasn't approved because of information from Chexsystems :) I don't know why they asked me to fund the account before it was really open, but I called the 800 number and they're refunding me my deposit.

Several people have attempted citibank and had the same thing happen. Only a few that I read on here have remained open. Some banks have online applications that will approve immediately. Then the bank will wait until the signature card is sent in to actually look at the Chexsystems report. At that point, they will send back the initial deposit and close the account.

Ive had my Citibank checking account for over a month now. And I didnt even fund it until after 30 days. They are very nice so far. I have two entries on Chex for BOA and SunTrust, which btw Im sure they are both reporting to EWS. and BOA is reporting Account Abuse on Chex, which I am on my way to disputing.

But so far so good.

BTW, it takes about 30 days for the account to be fully activated.

Its just nice to have a B&M bank that has alot of ATM's , that walmart card was killing me!

Just thought I would add my experience with Citibank. I opened an account with them back in the Spring of 2009 because they said I needed to open one to apply for a secured card. I pretty much assumed I would be denied because I have multiple chexsystems entries, one fraud and a couple account abuse. I was quite suprised that they didn't mention any entries at all, and I still have the account today. I even pulled my chexsystems report after that to see if the entries were still on there and they were indeed all still reporting. I guess they are weird about how they go about approving accounts.

Also I was able to open a checking account with BofA back in 2008 with these same entries in Chexsystems, all of them being from activity in late 2005/early 2006. From what I have read elsewhere BofA is more lenient and the online app tends to go through easier, though I don't know if that is still the case. I think they put at least two hard pulls on my credit report though. Also my credit at the time was quite bad, a 19k CO , a reposses vehicle and several unpaid collections.

Citibank is a bit strange. I know people who opened and funded an account online, only to have it closed, but went into the branch and got it opened again (with manager approval).

Exactly.. there is no guarantee with a bank that uses chexsystems and EWS once you have been reported. IF you are to get an approval by chance and somehow slip through the cracks, it is always a good idea to have a "back up" account and never have all of your money in one place.

Some banks still do not use chexsystems but options vary depending on where you live. More and more banks are also using EWS now. We are also seeing people who open accounts at banks that do NOT use chexsystems but later having issues when they use their bill pay service and order checks. Many bill pay services now use chexsystems, telecheck and EWS even when the bank may not. Ordering checks can also still cause an account to be closed so it is VERY important to only use a safe check ordering company
