Now if nobody had a problem with being asked for ID, they would not have seen fit to make this ad, would they?

Let's see here...they are hawking a product to get money in from the sheeple so they play on the same irrational fears displayed by some around here. Showing ID to a clerk IS NOT the same as having one's personal information broadcast. They know it. You SHOULD know it. Some around here simply refuse to acknowledge the difference...

OK,...........the June 2008 issue of Money Magazine (page 22 at the bottom) warns against handing over your license to clerks as well

In situations where you have to show ID, keep it in your own grubby little hand, don't let someone else take it.
