Viking dunned, Resurgent responded!!

Recently I received a dunning letter from Viking Collections Service. It stated that LVNV is the creditor and they enclosed a second page listing, among other things, a laundry list of Sherman Companies. I sent a timely, simple DV/LC&D by CMRRR. A few days later I received a reply, but not from Viking. It's from Resurgent!!

It reads:

 

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding this account.

We have taken the necessary actions to ensure you will receive no further communications from Resurgent Capital Services L.P. If you have any further questions, please contact one of our CSR's toll-free at x-xxx-xxx-xxxx.

 

Enclosed please find original validation that verifies this debt.

Validation consists of their usual template that says "Validation of Debt", the date, my name, "As of the date of this communication you owe xxxx on account #xxxxx which is now owned by LVNV. Should you desire to pay off the account in full you should contact us at xxxxxxxxx to determine the payoff balance as interest, payments, credits, fees and/or other permissible charges can continue to cause your account balance to vary from day to day."

 

Clearly, this is not validation. How do I respond to this? And to whom--Viking, Resurgent, LVNV or all 3? ( I'm well within SOL).

 

I apologize if this has already been answered elsewhere, but I can't find it and I only have a few days to respond if I need to refute this "validation" within 30 days. It languished in the mail and took forever to be delivered to me, but I can't prove that it took 3 weeks to arrive and I don't want to risk a game of chicken w/ LVNV.Thanks!

WHAT A THREAD!! I've been wading through it slowly but surely and taking notes like mad. Will have to send something off within the next few days even if it isn't as good as I would like it to be. I wish I had more time to research and write this particular letter(s), but my dear mommy was admitted to the ICU again and being with her takes precedence. I'm sure this won't be my last squirmish w/ LVNV and friends. I hope my next attempt will be better.
