I know most of us got rate jacked to 29.99% recently and our monthly fees went up to $8.75/mo or something.

Has ANYONE had any luck getting that fee waived?

I'm BillPaying my measly $285 balance today, hate to lose the card/credit limit (sadly, I need for utilization purposes).

I'm thinking no one has gotten them to waive it but....maybe????

I just got off the phone with Credit One, and they agreed to waive my fee for the next six months when I threatened to cancel the card. When I asked they said it wasn't possible, but as soon as I said go ahead and cancel it then she changed her tune.

I still might cancel it since it's the only card that charges a fee for online payments (7.95!), but it is my oldest card and my second highest limit so I can wait another six months.

Get ready to close it.

I don't *know* this as fact, but if I were a betting man I'd guess they NEVER waive the fee. For anybody. Ever.

Why? Because the fee is precisely their business model and who they are.

Same with First Premier, btw.

It's ridiculous to charge customers to pay their bill. I've always used my bank's electronic bill pay service - it's free that way.

You know, that's such an obvious solution I'm embarrassed to not have realized it before. I've been mailing in paper checks every month all these years.

Mailing in a check every month in STILL better than shelling out $7.95.

Cardholders of this card for the past month received a new CIT starting in Jan 2010 pertaining to a higher annual fee(99.00) and no grace period for purchases, do I see a lot of request for closing my account because this card is not worth it.
