Recent AmEx businesss Platinum CL experiences

I am curious what limits Amex has been imposing on their business platinum cards. Has anyone had RECENT experience in applying and using an AmEx business platinum card in their business.

 

What limits have you been receiving , and is there anything you can do at activation to get it higher. Yes, I realize that there is no "preset spending limit," but that is not really true now is it.

 

I was approved based on a offer they sent my business, however it is unclear what usage limits I am going to get out of it, and I received today, however have not activated it yet, wondering if there is anything I can do at activation to improve that.

I was approved in July for the Business Platinum and when I got my card I began utilizing it for purchases I normally make on my Compass and Wells Fargo Business cards. I reached about $8500.00 and I got a denial, called in and was told that I would have to pay my balance down to make further purchases (???). I didn't even receive a notice yet?!? I had to wait until the statement was available (the pay now button) online to use the card. So there was a limit, contrary to what they say... Only good for the members only lounge at the airport.

 

I paid it off, and continue to use my Compass and Wells instead...

 

BTW I have a AMEX personal Gold, no issues..
