Hi! I completed Loan Rehab, but "AES/SLMA" and NJ HESAA still remain.

Sallie mae says they Consolidated my 2 Loans from 2006... "FFELP"... doesnt say anything about NJ HESAA.

Can I approach them with Sallie Mae about Consolidation -Still?- -- What is an "Add On"?

The Days of General Revenie Corporation are bye-bye.. I will end the year with them behind me.

Need advice...

Thanks!!!

Joseph, your student loan issues have never been clear to me. I thought you rehabbed and were waiting for DOE to pick up the loans? Basically, the answer to all of your questions is going to depend on whether you rehabbed or consolidated the loans. Do you realize that there's a difference? Did you make at least 9 monthly payments to rehab, or did you just fill out a consolidation app? It sounds to me like you just consolidated them. If that's the case, they look like they're reporting accurately and you shouldn't expect any of those TLs to be deleted.

I have -2- different Sets of SLs.. First is from 2001, 4 or 5 accounts, went to NJ HESAA.. from DeVRy

The -2nd- Set was from ITT, went to USA Funds, then General Revenue Corp.. and i Rehabbed Those.

Now i have a new TL, US Department of Ed. General Revenue Corp is GONE, i DID do 10 Months Consecutive Payments.. GRC is REMOVED from my TL.

AES/SLMA is showing as the DeVry loans, and so is NJ HESAA. My understanding was that the AES/SLMA ones BECAME NJ HESAA.. They picked them up?? - They are in Default.

I MADE the Application to William D Ford and had it ACCEPTED.. they said they ACCEPTED the 2 FFELP Loans.. of 2006... which is the Twi that were GRC.. Rehabbed and GOne.

So, Basically the NJ HESAA did NOT make it into the COnsolidation... YET

I suppose my Question is: Is there an "Add-On Form" they are talking about that i can ADD ON my NJ HESAA Loans TO the Department of Ed? I know i Pay Sallie Mae $50.55 a month now...

I will dig if that Payment is for the -4- AES/SLMA Loans OR the 2 Loans, and Sallie Mae is COLLECTING for the Department of Ed...

Basically im wondering WHY:

1) AES/SLMA is ON there, and has info through September of 2007

and 2) Werent THOSE the ones that became NJ HESAA?

I -WANT- the Department of Ed to PAY NJ HESAA -IN FULL- and I pay the CONSOLIDATED.. then BOTH AES/SLMA AND NJ HESAA would come off, as GRC has.

Yes NJ HESAA is in Default.. YES I applied for IBR/ICR, as is required when that happens.

What do I do?

Please be patient. The SL forum doesn't receive anywhere near the traffic of the credit forum. There is absolutely no need to repeatedly bump a post that is already at the top of the page and - as you've been reminded many times - starting a new thread to post an update about the same topic only causes confusion and won't help you get the help you need.

Yes, NJ HESAA is your guarantor. When you defaulted, they paid the lender and you now owe them. You can do a new consolidation to get these loans out of default if you choose, but that won't help your credit report much. If you consolidate, none of the negative TLs will be deleted. They'll show as paid, but will still be derogs. The only way to get rid of the NJ HESAA TL is to rehab. If you do that, the lender's TL will still remain on your report until approximately 7 years after the date you defaulted.

.. It is possible to Rehab with NJ HESAA? Same way i did with GRC... Paid them 9 (they made it 10) months Straight, and then the TL -did- go away? I see what youre saying. Consolidating will PAY them, but it wont help the Credit it will show Default for 7 years... not even update as Paid, or it wont matter?

btw: Thanks  Progress occasionaly gets the best of me.. Im sorry.
