let me get this right. u should only delete old addresses if u have neg. accts. linked to them. all of my med coll. accts. are linked to the current address. I have all positive accts. except med.coll. and a bankruptcy in 2001 that are linked to the 911 account. dont think I had the p.o. box when i filed bankruptcy. also is there a place where u can get all 3 credit scores at once. thanks for everything.

If your old addresses are NOT linked to any derogatory accounts then there is no point in deleting addresses.

I do not believe in paying to get "scores" until all possible credit repairs are done, after that MYFICO ( check the forum for discounts) is the best bet without having to sign up for expensive useless credit monitoring services.

Even if you're concerned about identity theft?

The issue is to get addresses off your reports that are tied to deragatory accounts. EVERYONE is "concerned" about ID theft, so that can be used as a valid reason to dispute old addresses.

If you have SERIOUS concerns about, or have been a victim of ID theft or fraud, there is a forum here for that issue.

For those who are VERY concerned about ID theft (or have a very common name)they should do a full opt out and delete ALL old/non valid addresses and freeze their reports.

The initial F/A only last 90 days, and usually helps when disputing, because the CRAs are supposed to take extra care when processing your dispute when you have a F/A on your CR.

To answer you question yes, you can still send the HIPAA dispute while there is a F/A present on your credit file, you may however want to send appropriate proof of your identity along with the Pre- HIPAA dispute.

Drivers license

Copy of SS card

Copy of current utility bill w/ current address

ok, typed up my first hippa letter today, one question where it says Dear CRA, do I insert the name of the agency, ie. Transunion or leave it at CRA?

ok all CRA's have received their letters according to the usps tracking service. now do I wait on responses and if they delete anything will I receive new credit reports.

Posted (edited)

Yup, it's time for the "ohh so fun" waiting game

You will receive new reports either way. If they delete you'll get new reports and even if they don't you'll still get new reports. Wait for the reponses before proceeding further.

They can't show up again, paying the OC now MAY get them put back on your reports as a "paid" collection. Send the $$ to a favorite charity.

Wait until you receive a response from Equifax, CSC forwarded your dispute to them.

As to disputing your BK from 2001, do NOT try to dispute anything on line as it will just mess everything up.

Are you in the same State as when you originally filed??

Was it a chapter 7 or chapter 13??

If you have opted out and disputed off old addresses, then wait until you receive your response from Eq on your recent disputes and post back here for getting the BK deleted.

yes I'm in the same state I filed in which is KY. And it was chapter 7 that was filed. But what you are saying is not to start disputing anything new until I have these CA's taken care of from all 3 CRA'S. Am I understanding you right. Even though Transunion is taken care of(no CA's reporting) do not dispute the BKRPCY yet.

Oh yeah, we are going to look for a vehicle tomorrow. how is this going to effect my credit and all this stuff I'm working on. We need one badly it's a half to situation.

Yes you are, wait for the medical disputes to be completed with ALL the CRAs first, then move on to something else. Even though Transunion is taken care of(no CA's reporting) do not dispute the BKRPCY yet.

Again you may be better of waiting until your current round of disputes are completed before you apply for any type of credit/loan. If they happen to pull TU, you will be fine but any other CRA and you may have a problem. When you dispute with the CRAs the Tradelines are supposed to mark as consumer disputes and ignored by FICO when anyone pulls your credit report. It has been my expericence that this doesn't always work as it should. If the collection accounts have not been mark as consumer disputes then your score will be lower and you may pay a higher interest rate on the loan. If you can hold off until these disputes are completed then you may save a lot $$ on the auto loan, by way of a lower interest rate.

ok, received a letter from EXP. today that says:

We have already investigated this info and the credit grantor has verified its accuracy. Please refer to the personal credit report for the name, phone # and address of the credit grantor who verified this info. Pursuant to Sec. 611(a)(3)(A) of the fair credit reporting act, we will not investigate your dispute again at this time. If u still believe the item is inaccurate, then we can add a statement of continued dispute to ur credit report, or u may wish to contact the credit grantor directly to resolve your issue. if u have additional relevent info(anything new that has occurred between u and the credit grantor or courts that should result ina a change to the info appearing on ur credit report, such as a letter from the creditor, a cancelled check or money order, billing statment , contact name of the credit grantor, blah, blah, blah, that was not presented when u previously disputed the info, u may mail it to us and we will reinvestigate ur claim. and it goes on and on and on.

OK, they did not even investigate these 3 CA's(probally because I disputed these online in the early fall, one of them is also a paid CA. Now when I pull my report up they are still investigating the 2 CA's from NCO. So what is my next step. I figured for sure the paid would come off with this letter.

And when I try to pull up the medical Dv letter my antivirus states this is an unsafe site?

Still no results from equifax on mine, but my husband received a letter stating they needed further info. he has to provide proof of identity because it does not match whats on file. so when I send this info in to the address on the letter do I just send it regular mail, since they are requesting it. thanks so much.

And when I try to pull up the medical Dv letter my antivirus states this is an unsafe site? Yes, unfortunately Norton will give you that message if ANY of the websites on the server are a problem. There has been an ongoing problem with ANOTHER website ( you will see the explanation if you click on the Norton popup) Therre is NO PROBLEM with my website and it is perfectly safe to use, the ONLY danger would be if you went to the website on the server that is contaminated. I notified them a Month ago of the problem and they fixed it, but it has reappeared. I notified them again last week and they probably have fixed it again but it takes Norton time to rerun their scans

Send the medical DV's and send the requested data regular mail.
