Gotta love this business credit stuff. I just made 3 net 30 purchases so that I can get my paydex score. I just ordered from Tech Depot and got a call from customer service saying that I was approved for a $500 account. My question is this, I know the net 30 will show on my report but will the $500 account show on my report as well or would I need to use the account first before it actually post on my credit report? Thanks

Congrats on the approval!

In order for Tech Depot to report a $500 TL on D&B, you would have to purchase $500 worth of merchandise (and pay of course). They do not report the limit, only the amount utilized.

I believe you can also pay your Tech Depot invoices with your Office Depot card (if you have one)

Congratulations on the approval. Did you just make only 3 net 30 purchases on 1 account or multiple accounts?

Thanks

3 net 30's from 3 different companies. Uline, Reliable,Teach Depot. I'm curious as to what should be my next move or should i wait until those trades hit before i start applying for other stuff?

right on $500 is really good for starter credit. they say you shouldnt go applying for biz credit a whole lot cause it would put a red flag on your file. but its always ymmv.

i just got 4 net 30 accounts reliable, gempler, uline and bags n bows ($200 line). im gonna build my history then go for the big boys hopefully soon.

by chance how much did you order for your tech depot? was it over $50?

My orders for this specific company were all over $50. They were all around $75. But if I'm correct in assuming one of your concerns, I have placed orders lower than $50 and had the trade lines reported. It's just that the higher your trade lines are, the better it looks on your report because your "cash experiences" are higher. A $500 trade line would look better than a $100 trade line but everyone's budget is different . Any trade line is better than none. Also, in my experience all your trade lines are rounded up to the nearest $50 increment. Hope this helps

chnceit,

Be sure to come back and update us on the results once you do apply.

hey ceebo44. i didnt make my purchase with them yet. i was wondering if they would approve me for a net 30 with only 1 purchase? because from you last reply you made multiple purchases.

chnceit,

I got a net 30 account on the first purchase. i made multiple orders but I only placed one order with each company. I don't think you'll have a problem, once you place the order they will tell you that you will receive an email confirming if it goes through. Then a customer service rep. will call you. Hope this helps. Make sure you give us update once you do go through with it.

Thanks for the encouragement ceebo44. I went ahead and made a purchase close to $100. It says that its In-Process, hopefully it goes thru and I will update as soon as I get word.

What is this Tech Depot? Is this like an subsidiary of Office Depot or Home Depot. And do you receive decent credit lines when you apply? I'm not going to apply for this account if they are just handing out $250 and $500 lines of credit as you can't do much with that account.

Tech Depot is subsidiary of Office Depot. I am new in starting my business credit and needed accounts to be added to my portfolio and greywolf says this is tier 2 business credit.
