QUOTE
Dear XXXX:

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

The above referenced account is no longer owned by Capital One. It had been sold to NCO Portfolio Management, INC.

If you have any questions, or need additional information, please contact them at....

Sincerely, Cap1

I sent them a very clear 623 dispute after I dispute with the CRA's and they completed w/Cap1 investigation. They are reporting this account on equifax twice, with the identical account number and completely different information. The reported balance, terms, high balance, and DOFD also dont match with any of the 3 CRAs.

I started to 1-2 NCO and after 1 punch they dropped. I dont think I could much clearer on a 623 and they know their responsibility. Should I do a follow up 623, BBB/AG or what?

In your 623 did you explain to them you wanted an investigation of blah, blah blah, if so they just sent you a cookie cutter letter. Your 623 letter needs to be precise.. check out clamberts thread on midland has extremely valuable info..

Just be careful they can deem it frivolous and then your in a tough spot..

CAP1 will not respond to a 623 or anything else for that matter except with canned responses... gd and I have almost the exact same responses on our complaints with the OCC...

This always has been and always will be the biggest problem.
Those that don't do the required research and send out letters
not knowing why they are sending them or even knowing what they are sending,
are not fighting only the cra's and ca's, but they are fighting themselves
and are their own worst enemy.

What was the response? Before Cap1 became a national bank, I had a couple disputes with them and when I would complain to the Fed Reserve they would immediately fold. They became a national bank when Tennessee sued them and I have been wondering whether things have changed now.
