Hello, Mary. I was just wondering if a checking acct that is in collection is supposed to be on my credit report? I couldn't find this information on the boards, but I thought checking accts were only supposed to be reported to Chex?
If this is the case how do I dispute with the CRA and do you think this will then automatically go to Chex?
Thank you

If the account was charged off and turned over to collections, yes they can and many times will reort to a credit bureau. That doesn't mean that they won't report to chexsystems, telecheck, or EWS. It just depends on the bank and the collection agency, they are all different. Which bank was it?

As far as disputing it, you can dispute it wtih any credit reporting agency. There is no guarantee for removal.
