I have always been into the paranormal. More so after my "Ghost cat" incident. The link to the story is in my profile.

Me and some freinds have a group in which we go out and investigate places just for fun. So one guy that we know asked us for help. The first rule we have is to look for logical explanations. ALWAYS.

This guy is not crazy, and very level headed. He told us the story of his home.

He reported physcial contact, being grabbed, seeing figures, and hearing things. A five year old was in the home one night and claimed that "the old man in the suit won't let me go to sleep". Another female who was in the home one night reported seeing him also. She knew nothing of the childs incident.

He has a badass biker friend that fears nothing and no one. He experienced something in the home that he wont even speak of. To this day, he will not go in or near that house for any reason.

The most activity comes from a certain bedroom. There is history of witchcraft from a girl that the son use to date. A Oujia board was also used years ago, however the activity started before that.

As the guy told us stories, he was shaking. 2 Sons also live in the home, and have also had experiences. So i looked at my friend when the guy went to the kitchen, and we knew this could be huge. He came back and said "you guys come over anytime you want, i just want to know for sure that something is there".

I simply said "you free tonight?" We rounded up our gear and headed there.

I took like 80 pictures. Didn't catch anything though. My focus was on the bedroom with the most activity.

As we entered, it was Ice cold in there compared to the rest of the house. So naturally we checked the heat vents. they were open and no problems noted. Next, we checked the window. I raised the blinds all the way up. No draft was found. No logical explanation could be found for the temp change.

Now it was time to try an EVP session. (Thats where you record and ask questions out loud).

There were four of us in the home. The Owner and 2 of my friends. At this point, we turned out the lights. I was sitting on the bed, one friend was sitting to my right, one was standing to my left, and the owner in the doorway. We could still see each other due to me raising the blinds earlier.

There was a computer monitor on the floor. on top of it was a cd case. I sat the recorder there. I dont like to hold it during sessions, too much interference.

I asked "can you give us a sign that you are here?". Not 2-3 seconds later, we heard thumps in front of us. None of us had moved. I had a small flashlight, i turned it on and asked what was that?

My friend to the left noted that there were CD's in a (whatever you call that thing you put on a sunvisor in your car) on the back of the computer monitor. It was now in the floor. (No, this is not the CD case the recorder was on.)

I made note of it and we sat back down to continue. nothing else to report. When we were done, i wanted to debunk that the CD's were thrown. So we went back in.

With the lights on, we got in the same positions. None of us could have reached it if we wanted. I put the holder back on the computer monitor and tried to make it fall. It would NOT slide off. I tried for 5 freakin minutes. Even if it did fall off, it would only make 1-2 small thumps, not 4-5 loud ones. I played the recorder back to listen. There was an odd scratching sound right before the thumps.

It dawned on me what it was. It was the holder sliding across the holes in the monitor. I managed to re-enact the sound with a great match. The sound was fast. This holder wasn't just tipped, it was smacked from the side, hit the dresser, bounced back to the monitor, and onto the floor. (i had to recreate and account for each thump.)

Ok, now all logic has went out the window. I would love to debunk this, but im at a dead end. How the hell does a CD holder get smacked that hard that close to the recorder when asked for a sign?

Im open for suggestions.

Oh yes, were going back.

Ghosts don't scare me, iv'e been married.

I can't help with debunking, but I'll repeat something Virgil has told many people (and I've posted it here before):

Be VERY careful with EVP's, because one day you might hear something you don't want to. He's Native American, and they believe that if you go looking for things, you also are inviting them into YOUR world.

Just be careful. I'm too chicken to EVER try anything like that.

ETA: We have a ghost in our apartment. It's nothing harmful, but it likes to make it's presence known. The only time it really made me mad is when it was messing with my makeup and it was something I used everyday that I needed to use so I could get ready for work.

Other than that, if I feel or hear anything, I pretend I don't notice, lol.

so, no one could reach it with their arms. .....

anyone have a stick they could have used?

did you check the room for anything someone could have used?

I can't say anything about the CDs, but I DID want to mention something about the temperature change. We have one room that is always different than any other room in the house. Yes, the vents are open, but in the summer it is hotter than any other room, and in the winter it is much colder.

Just because the vents are open, doesn't mean heat gets to the room.

You didn't say how much colder it was. Was it colder than it was outside? If so, then I wouldn't have a logical answer for you.

I tend to not believe in ghosts, however fats made a VERY GOOD point. I might not believe in ghosts, but I do know that there are things in the places that don't need to be here in our world or "dimension" or whatever you want to call it. You open the wrong door, and they might be able to come in.

:(:clapping::clapping:

I just had to laugh at your commentary first.

Sounds freaky, Jack. I'd be scratching my head on that too.

Were there any small animals (like cats) in the house that could have made contact with the CD case without you seeing it?

Is the room part of the original construction of the home, or was it a poorly-insulated addition?

Thanks all.

No, there was no way anyone cold have reached it, or used a stick, nor was any string tied to it. There was actually a clothes hamper in between the CD's and the owner and the friend to my left. A tall one. If the other friend to my right got up, i would have known. plus we still had some moonlight in which we could see each other.

There was a dog, who is the only pet. but he was put outside so he wouldn't be in the way.

I took a pic of the cd's in the floor. I may post them soon.

If anyone know how to put the audio up for anyone to listen to, let me know.

As for the temp, it was an older house, so i think that is a possibility. Good catch.

I'm no help....our place sits on land that was a battleground in the last civil war...I hear and see a lot of weird things, I mean really how long can a house keep settling  ....I've heard footsteps come up the stairs, approach the bedroom, the feeling of something getting in bed with me..etc...

have you considered posting that on the Ghost Hunters forum? the people there might help you debunk the CD case sliding around.

http://forums.syfy.com/index.php?showforum=70

Thanks Punkinbee. I did find another forum however. This one is full of investigators, and hardned skeptics.

So far, no one has any logical explanation. It's something that will never be explained, IMO. I did take the audio recreation with the original, did some matching with audio software, and it's a perfect match. They were smacked across the room, no doubt.

Then last sat night, stuff went haywire there again. I got called at like 11:30. One of those "can you get over here now" calls.

I'll save that story for later, im still workin on logic for that one.

Your friend needs more Jesus in his life and house.

Actually, they (and I) have that. But for some reason, it stays.

We got the book out last saturday night and read from it. Thats when it all stopped.

I think i better keep this on the other forum. This could violate TOS, beliefs, and get outta hand.

If anyone wants to pm me, feel free.

Otherwise, I better let this one die.

I was making a joke, Jack.. no worries. Well, sorta was, anyways.

Dh and I took DD to see Paranormal Activities last weekend... so this is my new standard response to anything having to do with "paranormal" stuff. Keep in mind that my Dh is an atheist, while I am... not. We have a lot of jokes, that I suppose most people wouldn't get unless I explained all that. Sorry! :P Please don't let me muck up your thread that I'm sure lots of people would like to discuss.

Having said that, and sorta apologized... the bolded part just proves my point. Ain't nothing in life that either Jesus or alcohol (or a piece of rusty rebar) can't fix.

Eh, it's all good. :)

If anyone wants to discuss, they can. But i prob wont add to it unless they ask.

I mean, i understand the "don't look for it" and all that such, but when a friend calls late at night and needs help, i go. Thats just me, ya know.

Exactly. That could not be more true. I remember my grandma talking about oiji(sp) boards. I guess they've been around for awhile. I was really young and she told a story about how they had one when she was young (as a joke, it always starts out as a joke) and bad things started happening within the household/family members who lived within the household. They got rid of it and the bad things stopped. While that may sound like a coinsidence(sp), I've heard similar stories over the years.

A thing about heat changes. Ever left your closet door open? My old house had a problem in just one room, where if you left the closet door open, it would make the room soooooooooooooooo cold (although the attic access was in that closet). The home I live in now, if I leave 2 closet doors open, it will make the room cold. It's as if the builders were ultra cheap and didn't insulate them or something.

I want to know more!! I PM'd you.

Have you ever heard of the Myrtles' Plantation?

Oh yes! I have the book wrote on it, watched the unsolved mysteries episode also.

I actually called to make reservations about two years ago. They were hella booked.

If nothing else, i want to see the beauty and history of the place.

My 4 year old has started seeing things in the apartment. Started a week or so ago. Needless to say, we've been burning red and white candles 24/7 since then. We also have a sacred tribal eagle feather on a wall, and plan on buying some white sage and burning it.

I'm clueless with all this, but hubby knows about it, so I'm slowly learning.

Jack, PM the other site too, lol.

Jack, that story.....CREEPY!!!

Fataliya, what is the purpose of the red and white candles? Are they mixed together or do you burn a Red candle and separately burn a White candle? What's the white sage???

Virgil boys those religious candles that supermarkets carry. The ones with the Virgin Mary or Virgin of Guadalupe (a major figure in his tribe, btw) on the glass. He buys both red and white. They believe that red keeps evil away and I think white is cleansing? The white sage is to cleanse the apartment, but we'll have to have a window open when we do it so that the spirit can leave.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to messing with stuff like this. It creeps me out, but since it's messed with me and my stuff before, I guess I gotta "man up". But I ain't gonna like it.

Im still scratching my head over part II, the clothes hamper.

Dude.

If that happened to me, I think I'd be so freaked I'd pack everyone up and live in a motel room.
