Just wanted to say I think I am going to bite the bullet and go with Incharge Debt Solutions. I have been thinking of it for a while but when I had 2 cards that I had 7% interest and under go up to almost 20% (across the board not just for me personally) I realized I can't win.

I know I read a lot of advice here regarding trying to work with creditors first but I called most of my cards and I was told NO flat out. Some said I had to be 90 days late - I have never been late and think that is just unfair.

Anyway I will keep you posted if you are interested. I have to finalize tomorrow so any comments or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

About $30 per month. There may be cheaper or free ones but I have done reasearch and know a few people who used them who were happy. The max I believe is $49. There is a $50 set up 1x.

Very easy process. They even outlined the proposed interest charges before and I called all of my cards with a last ditch effort and got no where. Of course I will take the low interest if my card won't lower me from 24% with NO lates, overlimits, etc. Report is clean except for high utilization.

Keep us up to date on how it goes. We want feedback from people who are using these services.

I agree it's unfair that the card companies refuse to work with people unless they are late. As things stand now, a lot of people have had their credit rating trashed by reduced limits - everyone has to do what's best for their own situation.

I know I have been debating this for a long time now. When my interest practically doubled on an account that I had perfect history that was the last straw. I am excited and already feel a weight lifted. I tried the snowball and that would have worked until I had to double the amount I paid due to interest.

My first payment is 10/8 I will create a post then and update we need something on this forum! Which reminds me I want to pull my fico's now.

Yes, we're just beginning to accumulate the base of information on this subject. It has become more important than it used to be, so many people are dealing with the exact same issue - they were fine until their rates were increased beyond reason.
