What is an Active Duty alert?

 

Active Duty Alerts

 

You may place an Active Duty Alert if you are an active duty military consumer. Like a fraud alert, the Active Duty Alert lets creditors know that they should take additional steps to verify the identity of anyone applying for credit using your personal information.

 

The alert will remain on your credit report for 12 months, beginning on the date it is placed. You may remove the alert before it expires or place another at the end of 12 months. When you add the Active Duty Alert, it will also remove your name, for two years, from marketing lists used for preapproved credit or insurance offers. (AKA "Opt Out")

 

 

Please Note: To place a fraud or Active Duty alert on your credit report with credit reporting agencies you must contact them directly. Innovis does not share fraud alert information with any other credit reporting agency. Use the information below to contact the all four credit reporting agencies.

Innovis provides you with two convenient ways to request an Active Duty Alert: by phone or by mail.

 

Phone: Call 1-800-540-2505 anytime to request an Active Duty Alert using our automated system. Representatives are available to assist you Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. ET. You will be asked to verify several pieces of information prior to fulfillment of your request. Once your identity has been verified, an Active Duty Alert will be placed on your Innovis Credit Report. If we are unable to complete identity verification by phone, you may be asked to submit your request by mail.

 

Mail: Complete the Fraud & Active Duty Alert Request Form and forward it to Innovis at the address provided below. Upon receipt and verification, an Active Duty Alert will be placed on your Innovis Credit Report for 12 months, beginning on the date of application.

This is good info but I must add something.

 

I started my credit repair in 2007 while I was in Germany. I had really nice scores in April 2008 but I never got any pre screened offers. When I arrived back in the states and with a lower but not bad credit score, I got tons of them. I am now back in Germany and once again I am not getting any pre screened offers. I dont have nor have I ever had Active Duty alerts added to my reports.
