Their web site is here

I am not affiliated with them in any way, but since they are offering $50.00 deposit in my account for a new account, I may set up an account with them.

Hope this helps someone.

TCF does use and will run a chexsystems report but they do not care if you are reported as long as you do not owe TCF bank any money

Interesting. That is not what they told me. They said if you don't have anything on your Chex reports over $3,000 they'll approve the account. They opened my new account today over the telephone.

I have also has a few people indicate to me that they opened accounts that were later closed due to EWS issues. NOT chexsystems.

Yeah if you don't mind the fees. They're almost as bad as First Permier with them.

And if you want to use your debt card at say Moneygram or Westernunion online.. forget about it, they won't approve it.

You get charged POS fees just for using your card as a POS (which most of online sales/terminal fees) are. I'm much happy with US bank. I have two entries on Chexsystems and they still approved me.

If you want to use their bill pay you have to pay 6/month.

I can go on.

I'm saving at least 40/month in fees from them by switching to USbank.

Interesting, but none of this matters to me, except the POS fees. None of the other fees will ever matter to me. Western Union? Bill pay? Why?

I'm not clear what your question is; could you clarify, please ?

Regarding their fees, I found pdf files on their fees and services for residents of certain states: (link)

For POS fees in particular, while I didn't look up what the policy is for the other seven states I can say that in the Arizona pdf file that TCF says it does not charge a fee for POS transactions.

After skimming through the file, I thought to myself, good grief .. and I thought Wells Fargo seemed bad about nickel and diming through myriad fees. TCF appears to be much worse.

I did chance upon one thing (below) that I thought was pretty cool that I haven't seen before from a bank or credit union:

http://www.tcfbank.com/CustomerService/cus...d_overdraft.jsp

"If you would prefer that we do not authorize: 1) ATM transactions or 2) Point of Sale transactions for merchant purchases made with your TCF Check Card or TCF ATM Card when your current balance is insufficient, write us at: TCF Bank, P.O. Box 9110, Minneapolis, MN 55480-9110. You must include your name, address, all account numbers you want included, and indicate your desire to have TCF not authorize transactions."

They told me they would not approve (to use Western union/money gram to send money to someone via their online website due to fraud).

I can understand that but why punish the rest of us that actually USE Western Union online/and or Moneygram? find the ones that are using it illegal and charge them, don't punish the rest of us.

I was looking at their $50 offer to open a checking account.

They said you are required to purchase checks thru ChecksConnect as a condition of getting an account.

I couldn't find them on mca's list. Are they safe?

I've previously used Checks In The Mail.
