Hello all. While checking my EX report..... I noticed these guys made a hard pull. After checking on-line......I see this is most likely regarding the $600 I owe on a stafford student loan. My question is....Can I just send the money to the DOE? I'd rather not deal with these CA clowns at all.

Even if it's assinged to a CA, the payment address is to the DOE. I would try to rehab it, even though it's small, to get the late pays off your report.

I was told on this forum that the DOE wouldn't do a rehab for that small of an amount huh.gif

Also, you need to call and check exactly how much you owe. $600 may be reporting to the credit bureaus but that may not include collectiton fees and accrued interest.

Even sending the payment to the DOE, the CA will get their commission.
