i have two medical collections reporting on CR for services i received from OC and insur did not cover
ok what ive done so far:
opted out addresses are already updated got 2/3 reports (TU and Ex) sent prehippa to 2 CRA
EQ wont budge on the fre annual report. I tried online, by phone and mail (sent 3/20). No mail response I'm pretty sure 1 or 2 medical CA are also reporting on Equifax because my CU pulled CR for loan refi and told me interest would double because scores dropped about 100 points since jan 08 and she even read the two med collections to me from Eq and Ex. She also looked at TU score which is the highest at 628
I'm literally counting every penny and wonder if I could still qualify for the free CR from EQ (..never received in the past 12 months plus CU offerred to double IR on refi). if so, is there a way to make the request by speaking to a person? I tried several phone numbers I picked up from the boards and their site, but they are all automated
although i don't yet have a reply from the CRA yet, (counting 45 days from 4/1) i did get a dunning letter from CA on one account disputed with TU
I understand that I want the CA to prove their relationship with OC and I'll wait to get responses from all CRA before proceeding to send DV
just want to be sure I'm on the right track here.
Thanks much for your guidance/support and I'll post any updates to this thread

You are on the right track with the HIPPA process, but it is best to do all you medical dispute with all the CRA at the same time. Did you have a name change or anything like that? Have you tried the link in the Credit forum? The one suggestion I have would be to sign up for a credit monitoring service but cancel before 30 days so you don't get billed or file a complaint with the FTC.

When did your CU pull your reports for the loan refi? Were you denied?

TU replied to dispute. results are: 1 med CA deleted 1 med CA verified This 1 CA is only showing on TU so I think it's safe to proceed with CA dispute letter. Also, after reviewing the letter to CA, I'm wondering if it's necessary to insert the TU name and file #? The 1 CA that was deleted is showing on all 3 CRA. I disputed the other 2. what are the chances of getting the other 2 deletes for the same CA?

is it ok to send this letter to CA now, then wait green card and followup with 2nd letter to CRA?
also, is there a back door to pull TU to view the update that was already done?

I noticed that the account number on the CA letter (response to CRA dispute) is different from the acct number on CR. The creditor name, date of service are identical. The balance on CR is $171. The balance on CA letter is $171.37.
Does any of this make a difference. Just want to be sure to get it right the first time. I'd like to send this letter CMRRR today.

You should wait until you get a response from ALL the CRA's before sending any medical DV to any CA.
If a "verified" CA is ONLY reporting on ONE report, and they have verified, then you do not need to put in the name of that CRA on your DV, just use the phrase "credit reports" this will possibly stop them from turning around and selling the account and having it report to other CRA's.

I got a response from Ex.---------DELETED this leaves one baddy of TU different CA for $171. I sent the letter CMRR to the CA today. After I get the green card, do I send the second letter to CRA or do I wait 30 days for a validation from CA

If they were legit they would have already responded to your dispute. ( double check your TU report before you do this as TU may have actually deleted without responding) http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?s...p;#entry3770365

TU sent me a letter ON JULY 13 stating:
"If you question the results of our investigation, then you may want to contact the data furnisher directly. Please refer to your original personal credit report for the business name, address, and phone number (if available) of the source that verified the information.
According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), a national consumer credit reporting company's role in the dispute process is to investigate information to determine the accuracy and completeness of any disputed item by contacting the source of the disputed information and informing them of all relevant information regarding the consumer's dispute. If the issue is not resolved, then the consumer credit reporting company must offer to include a consumer statement on the personal credit report. The Federal Trade Commission (the government agency charged with enforcement of the FCRA) does not require that the consumer credit reporting company obtain documentation such as the actual signed sales slips, signature cards, contracts, etc.; nor does it require that the consumer credit reporting companies act as mediators or negotiators in account disputes."
I have had no response from CA, letter dated june 22. (of course, I got the green card BACK and sent along with CA letter to Tu)
I thought there might be another letter in the mail from TU, but noting so far.
What should I do now?

Thanks much TU frequently sends out automated responses that have little connection to what they are actually doing. Check your report in about a week and see if it is still there, if it is there and there is NO notation that it has been disputed, then post back here and I will give you instructions on filing an FTC complaint against TU.

CA status: this account is not on record. (i assume this is the same as deleted)
I followed all steps precisely and once again, all baddies have been removed successfully.
THANKS WHYCHAT AND ALL CBers.
