My bank account is closed!

Wachovia bank closed my account because that I had negative balance with Chase a year ago!!

Just today Im learning about Chexaystelm!!

What should I do?

I have a business accout! Nedd to get a bank account!!!

Bank of America is one you may want to consider. Apply online only for business or personal. Depending on where you are in NY, there may be others aas well

I am surprised they closed it after a year. Try either wood forest bank or U.S. bank they have second chance checking account. Wood forest you can get a debit card for an annual fee. U.S. bank you can only get restricted atm card that only works at their atms.

Make sure you tell them your in Chexsystems and you do not know why.

They need to give you time to move your money out before closing your accounts.

ETRADE uses chexsystems and will deny. WoodForest is an excellent choice but not for a business account. US bank will open for those with no fraud reported in certain " in store locations" They will open business accounts if no money is owed to a previous bank.

What is your zip code there NYfreewomen?

My guess is Wells Fargo is cleaning up after acquiring Wachovia and spotted the account with the account owner being in Chex.

Check in Wal-mart, Some Wal-marts have banks in them-that have second chance checking accounts.

WoodForest does not offer business checking for those reported to chexsystems. Only personal accounts. I have emailed you NY.

I am really surprised they closed a "Business Checking account" I can see a Personal but not a Business. I wonder if wal-mart was reported to chexsystems would they close their account?

Let say you hire a director who is on Checksystem and then add them to your account, could the bank close your accounts? What if you business had out standing checks and payment do including taxes? That could cause problems. What if your business makes a lot of money?

They should at least give them 30 days, so all the funds will clear.

Most of the time if a bank closes an account they will freeze it and close it after 30 days, waiting to make sure everything has cleared. If the bank runs all signers on the account and you have someone on the account that has a chexsystems record, yes they might close it. It really depends on the bank

Here is a credit union that offers both business accounts and personal. It is very easy to get an account with them..if you are not eligible for membership by work or where you live, just tell them that you worship in one of the areas, Trustco is also one that you may want to try

Before you can open an account with Woodforest National Bank we do run Telecheck and Chexsystems. If you have any unpaid closures reported by a merchant or another financial institution on either one of these reports you will only qualify for our Second Chance Checking account. You will be able to open an account with us as long as we are able to properly verify your identity and you do not have an unpaid charged off account with Woodforest National Bank.

Additional information

2nd Chance account is $7.95 if you have direct deposit

$9.95 if you do not.

A $9 dollar account opening fee which is take from the account and a $12 dollar one time annual debit card fee is taken out so bring at least $22 (a dollar to open the account, when the promotion is over it's $25 to open per account) However, in 6 months or less, the branch determines if you can move to a regular account or open a savings in addition to the second chance account, regular accounts, you can open immediately!

if you are eligible for membership at People's Alliance, it is definitely a good one. They do not use anything and I have been told by many that it is very easy to get an account. Here are the requirements for membership. In Florida, they do also offer membership there but it is much stricter. Are you in New York?

TAB is now using chexsystems and they are also closing accounts when they find out that the person on the account is reported to chexsystems. It has been a BIG problem recently so I definitely would NOT apply at TAB.

If you have been reported to chexsystems, there are several options that you have:

1. wait out the 5 years and it will fall off

2. find a non-chexsystems banks

3. attempt to dispute for removal www.chexsystemsdisputes.com

The negative balance of $189 was with BOA. Wachovia closed my account because of that. I never knew about it until Wachovia closed my account!

It was a business account.

I can't open a business account with any bank in NY because of BOA.

I have a clean personal ChexSy report.

Im going to close my business and open a new one with a new Tax Id and everything!
