Tresa,

Easier said then done. Even when the debt is paid you remain on Chex for 5 years unless you can dispute it off and get lucky. Most banks won't even touch someone with a Chex record, even years after it's been paid and regardless of the amount.

d1879..I take it that you live in FLorida? Yes the ones that you listed are not good when searching for a credit union that does not use chexsystems. Have you seen my list? Also, take precaution...too many denials can flag your account and then a bank or credit union that may have given you an account will deny you simply on that basis. Important things to know when looking for an account

1.HOW OLD IS YOUR REPORT OR GIVE APPROX AGE

2. IS THE REPORT SHOWING PAID?

3. IF NO DEBT IS SHOWN, DO YOU STILL OWE ANY DEBT?

4.DOES THE REPORT INDICATE FRAUD, NSF, or ACCOUNT ABUSE?

5.DO YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE BANK REPORTING YOU?

6. WHO IS THE REPORTING BANK(S)?

7. the state in which you live and your zip code
