Midland is on my reports supposedly for Aspire Visa... I notice an inquiry on my reports from another CA (Leading Edge) and started received phone calls (I looked up the number and it was Leading Edge) so I do an unknown debt letter etc... guess what they send me... transaction statements from Aspire but it doesn't show any balance due... (this is the first time I have named any of my CA's with the exception of Midland)

 

Now I am scratching my head wondering WTH do I do now - How do I handle this one...

Ok... I need advice on how to attack this now on two fronts - 2 CA's and the same OC.... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Ok so I get home and look this over...

 

They send me some lame letter:

 

To Whom It May Concern: (they don't know who I am?)

 

We have obtained the enclosed documents in reference to your account dispute, request for verification or request for proof of debt. Please expect to receive an additional notice that is being mailed separately. It will include further instruction for contact and/or payment and conclude our fulfilling of your request. Failure to reply to this notice may result in our assuming that the debt is valid.

 

 

What they send me is NOT anything close to a cc bill or anything that appears to be from the OC Aspire....

 

It looks like something I can type up in Word...

 

Transaction History

My name Aspire Visa Acct#xxxxx

 

Date Description Reference location Amount

 

 

It lists dates, the description column has what appears to be "charges" and "payments" and the amount they were for....

 

It does list any balances or anything proving what I owe......

 

 

WTH... battling 2 CA's for the Same OC....

I'd send a second DV...informing them that what they sent isn't proper validation, as proper valdiation must come from the OC

both of them....and since you have TWO CAs...this is EXACTLY what DV is for...

 

you can't owe the money to both of them...

hmm..interesting..i have midland on my reports too and just got in inq on May 8th from leading edge. I wonder if they are working together.

 

I submitted a dispute to EX about 2 weeks ago. I disputed several TLs in that letter and one (nextcard) was just deleted today, so i think they are working on them. I will let you know if Midland deletes or verifies. If they delete, maybe they just sold the accounts.

Interesting situation. I would CONSIDER contacting Aspire, and kill 3 birds with one stone.

 

Depends on several factors however, the amount, age, etc.

 

Who all is reporting?

just so I really really don't screw this up - I would LOVE to catch both of them actively collecting on the same debt :search:

 

Ok OC is NOT reporting - when I did my original blanket dispute they were only on TU and they came off....

 

1. I DV'd Midland on 4/8 - received 4/10

2. I disputed with CRA on 4/11

3. 5/2-5/8 keep receiving phone calls from 800 number - notice Leading Edge Inquiry - google the number and it is them

4. 5/8 CRA's verified Midland - there are 2 TL's on my EX from them that still remain

5. 5/8 - Sent unknown debt letter to Leading Edge

6. 5/17 received a response from Midland requesting more info from ME

7. 5/28 - Sent letter to Midland stating that I had no information from them that I was requesting validation again blah blah

8. 5/28 - Received "validation" attempt by Leading Edge

 

 

Maybe that will help - I know to DV Leading Edge again.... but do I just send the normal one or do I start prodding about 2 CA's and the one debt thing...

 

ETA: The age is still within SOL early 2006 I believe so it says.... I am not much worried about them in that respect :rofl:

nope.... lol According to their "transaction history" payment from me was in April 06.... really really funny that it shows 4 payments from me 12/05 - 04/06 all for the same amount... 50.00 LOL

just so we are clear - I don't have any problem in paying ... I am not paying what they are asking which is by my last look at Aspire about 600 more than the balance owed to them...

 

I have no problem paying Aspire themselves but if they have sold it - I don't know what to do then... I am not going to pay one of these two thats for damn sure lol

when is the CO date?

 

I have a thread somewhere called "Pissed at aspire" or something. It shows how easy they were to work with, at least for me.

 

I'll see if i can find it...........

CO date - not a clue... my assumption would be Oct or Nov 06 since my last "payment" supposedly April 06 ...

I read them .... but it won't help me if they have already charged it off right and sold it? :)

 

damn... I wouldn't mind contacting Aspire and trying.... but I have a feeling they will yank me right back to the CA... but I guess the good thing would be I would know which one right....

Well tried to register online with Aspire to just see what would happen and if it was there and got this:

 

Due to the status of your account we are unable to register your account online. To receive information on your account, please call Customer Service at the number shown on the back of your card.

Never know til you try. The worst they could do is say no. Explain to them this situation is unique, as you have two CA's after you.

 

Do your reports say "sold" or "assigned"?

no it doesn't show sold or assigned on any of them as Aspire is not on them... would it be under Midland's because I haven't seen it there either....

 

I don't have the money yet to pay them so I don't want to call without that in my wallet lol I will DV this Leading Edge again... and in the mean time try to work with Aspire. I will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say...

Called Aspire - actually reached the fraud department by mistake but got a VERY nice lady on the phone who said "oh honey I will help you - do you know the account number"... I gave it to her...

 

She looked up my account and this is what she told me:

 

Sold to Jefferson Capital 12/06 800-281-2793

 

 

I am assuming that this ties into Midland correct?

 

This just leads me to wonder where this new CA is fitting in.. assigned by Midland perhaps?

Jefferson is different. They must have sold it to Midland. I googled and googled. Couldn't find anything that indicates midland and leading edge are working together...hard to tell for sure.

thats what I did to... I can't find anything to tie these together....

 

but it would work out better for me I guess if I actually had 2 going for the same debt at the same time LOL hmmmmm I am beginning to think they are all separate entities...

 

will wait this new letter out that I sent yesterday for a few days... then I think I am going to start blasting :P

Aspire for the most part, has had great customer service. (at least in my experience by phone).

 

Now you have 3 CA's on ya!

Look at any of the dunning letters. See if they say assigned, sold, or any clues as to who owns it.

thats thing... I don't have any letters LOL I only even knew about Midland cuz of getting ready to buy my house.. seriously no BS on this... I have NO letters ... none from Jefferson, none from Midland and none from Leading Edge... the ONLY thing leading edge sent was the letter at the top of the thread....
