QUOTE(Alenaya05 @ Apr 26 2008, 05:55 AM) QUOTE(MaTTeR @ Apr 26 2008, 08:46 AM) Cool. Thought May 2nd was the earliest date they stated? Bush made a statement yesterday stating that he was upping the inital payout date by a week, to help those who are being stung by the increase in food prices and gas. I learned in economics that inflation is caused by too much money chasing too few goods (not too mention the government just printing money). So if Mr. Bush is providing money for food and gas, is this just going to result in higher inflation? The solution would be to increase supply and/or decrease demand, not this.

The rebate and the stimulus are different. There's already a "Where is my rebate?" link up. How are the rebate and stimulus different? you get your tax REFUND which is your federal. On the website they state this: (that is why I said there is a Where's my REBATE link being worked on.) Q. Are there plans for the IRS to launch a “Where’s My Rebate” online application? A. Yes, an application is being developed. [New 4/14/08] This is listed under the STIMULUS PAYMENTS ANSWERS. see link. http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=179181,00.html Thought the rebate was the same thing as the Stimulus. There is already a WHERE"S MY REFUND link because that goes with the whole Federal returns etc.

QUOTE(Chris in CA @ Apr 26 2008, 11:06 AM) So I have myself, my wife, and my son on my 2007 tax return. We filed "Married filing jointly" and claimed our son as a dependent. So we should be getting $1500, right? According to the IRS calculator it says $900. What gives with that!? I filed with my spouse and claimed my son and the calculaor said $1500. My friend filed HOH and claimed one child and she's to get $600. I think if it was as easy as how many people you have on your return they wouldn't ask all those other questions like what amount is on line 7. I'm not sure how they figure it.

This is good news if indeed it all moved up a week - I'd be in the May 9 grouping per the original schedule.
I have an electrical upgrade at the house to work on that this will likely go towards...sigh..lol.

Was it between 00 and 19? That'll make me feel better if so. Maybe the first batch is random. Or maybe has to do with the amount?

None in my account yet either...but I am thinking the injured spouse form may slow it down even though the IRS guy said the other night that we would get it this week.

If they are they are misguided. The true stimulus will be doing something about the rapid increases in fuel costs. Just my opinion.
