QUOTE(prudent @ Apr 26 2008, 05:03 PM) Last two digits of SSN are 19 and my bank is showing the $1200 deposit to be credited on Monday. I e-filed in early April and used direct deposit. Thanks for posting this. I also e-filed. I was wondering how that would work. Hope to see mine on Monday. I am supposed to get $1200 also. YAYYYYYY

My oldest daughter was in the first batch of direct deposits, so hopefully she'll get hers Monday. Our bank (since expanding and buying out smaller banks) seems to run a day behind now... They used to be great about direct deposits - 1 minute after midnight the deposit would show - now I log in sometimes after 9 am and it's still not there. Anyway, I was scheduled in the 2nd round of dd's - May 9th, so hopefully I'll get mine sooner!

QUOTE(Athena775 @ Apr 27 2008, 01:01 AM) Ok I am going to chime in on this in regards to amounts of payments and eligibility.
The amount of your payment is directly related to your tax liability prior to any tax credits like the CTC.
If you are a single taxpayer earning more than $3000 you will get a minimum of $300 and a maximum of $600. For example I know a person whose tax liability was $450, so her rebate will be $450. I personally paid $1100 in taxes so I will get the full $600.
For married filing jointly the minimum you can get is $600 and a maximum is $1200.
If you have dependent children you get $300 per child.
If a person such as a full time student is claimed on their parent's taxes then they are not eligible for a payment even if they file their own return.
I hope I helped clear things up. Just to clarify, the dependent child must also qualify for the child tax credit. For example, my 2 children are still dependents on my tax return, but niether qualify me for the $300.00 because they are both over 17 and do not meet the child tax credit criteria.

FICOs 09/23/2007 TU = 620 EQ = 632 EX = 638 03/19/2008 TU = 641 EQ = 648 EX = 647 06/22/2008 TU = 656 EQ = 651 EX = 666 (I knew they were the devil!) 12/01/2008 TU = 718 EQ = 734 EX = 676 (@$!# EX!) 02/05/2009 TU = 735 EQ = 725 EX = 678 (Frozen!) 08/25/2009 TU = 740 EQ = 721 EX = No Can Do Consumer!

Not intending to rain on anyone's parade: What about the bigger picture blinded by this chump change our gov is throwing at us?
"Meanwhile the oil companies and the pharmaceutical companies and the war profiteers are making insane record profits, while [the XYZ Administration] sits around the dinner table with Saudi royals, drinking fine wine and eating the tender flesh of babies," proclaimed Flossdaily on Digg.

QUOTE(tgsweat @ Apr 26 2008, 10:42 AM) I wish I could get $600, I only qualify for $300. Seems like a person who makes less should get more than a person who makes more per year, but I guess the poor will stay poor lol. I'm a student so i will take whatever I can get I have never understood why people who pay very little in taxes feel they should get even larger amounts back. Percentage-wise they have a tremendous advantage. My understanding is that if you only got a $300 that means you had less than a $600 tax liability in 07. So you are getting over half your taxes back!! Thats HUGE!! On the other hand a family like mine with 1 child who works extremely hard to put together a 70k income and pays over 10k in taxes gets less than 15% returned. If I were you I'd be a bit grateful to the rest of us who are working so hard so you can have between 50 and 100% of your tax liability returned.

uh-oh ... I'm broke .... does this mean I'm going back to the milk crate and cable wheel furniture?

Wooot!!! It's getting here earlier than I thought. And just in time to pay off my Amex bill so I can get a $0 balance on my reports. Sucks that I have to use it to pay off a bill, but eliminating debt is just as good.

Yeah that sucks that us making over 75K a year wont get as much as you making peanuts. Although, I can now secure a FHA loan for over 700K which used to be only around 450K. That extra 250K in FHA backed loan amount will save me 1-1.5% interest a year which will translate to over 20K in interest savings over the life of my loan. Enjoy your 600 bucks! HA!
The rich win again.........

Since im in the middle of an FHA refinance...how will borrowing more save you interest? Im not following, unless its strictly because of score. Doesn't "more borrowed = more interests > more to pay later?"
Sorry, its Sunday and I have a Software demo that I have to do tomorrow to graduate so Im still up...... CAS
