I have a student loan from 3 years ago that I paid off in a settlement. It was tranferred once and there are quite a few deliquencies and associated with the account.

I had paid it off in one large payment so it shouldn't be a charge off, should it ? Also on the Equifax report it states I was only late one month and then states " Settlement accepted on this account; Paid Charge off ". How should I go about disputing it. Perhaps change the paid off status or try to delete it all together ??? Thanks

Within same situation. Have two Paid/ Charge off accounts. I tried to dispute them with the CRA but unfortunately both CA's reported the derogatory Paid/ Charge offs were valid and that they would remain on my CR for a total of seven long a** years. If you find a way please let me know too. Thanks!! :D

o.k. they deleted the late month but the paid charge off collection is still there. I called EQ and EX and they said it was verified so theres nothing they can do. Then I called the DOE and they said it's paid in a settlement for 70.00 less then the total amount, and they have no control over how the bureaus report. I am so frustrated. I think they verify electronically not verbly so theres always going to be some mistakes. But who do I talk to clear it up? The Ombudsman ?
