So after a extensive search on CB & Google, the below credit card sites are the only ones I could find that pull 'soft' inquiries to see if you qualify for their cards.

note: deleted original links - they're dead. please use the links below.

American Express (Click on "NOT A CARDMEMBER YET"): https://www201.ameri...atePerfectCards

Thanks!

I just did the orchard bank one, and was offered an unsecured, so I took them up on it. They said it was approved.

This is good because we need to add some more revolving credit before we apply for a mortgage in the next 1-2 yrs. I had thought I was going to need to do a secured card.

I saw a thread that was posted in the last week or two that had a link for Cap One's no hard pull card selector site.

I can't seem to find it. Maybe someone who has the link can post it for you.

So after a extensive search on CB & Google, the below credit card sites are the only ones I could find that pull 'soft' inquiries to see if you qualify for their cards.

HSBC (Non Orchard Bank):

https://www.hsbcappl...0802000172HPHHX

ORCHARD BANK:

https://www.hsbcappl...0802000161HPHHX

BOFA:
https://preapproved....elfInquiry.aspx

AMEX:
https://www201.ameri...xpress.com/card

lol denied

Please list any other 'soft pulling' card sites that allow you for the chance of pre-approval. Since I've opted out, I get like NO credit card offers anymore  It'd be much appreciated.

And for the record, these don't work with *B.

Someone posted recently that BOA pulled a hard when they used the pre-approval tool. I have played around with it in the past several times and it was never even a pull...YMMV.

Ahh, that's why.

I have opted out. But when I just tried for the BOA card it said it couldn't help me at this time. (or some other wording meaning the same thing).

But the Orchard card pre-approved me for an unsecured, and then approved me for the card after I did the real app.

I guess I'll see tomorrow when I pull my TC if they did a hard pull after I actually applied & was approved.

BOA is not a soft pull. It is a way to see if they have a standing offer for you. If they do and you apply then it will be a hard.

BOA is not a soft pull.

The "check for offers" link isn't a hard pull.

I speak not only from experience, but also from the wording on their site:

"This is not an application for credit. The information requested below helps us to determine if you qualify for any special offers. If qualified, you will receive an invitation to apply for a credit card. We will not use the information that you provide us for any other purpose."

Its a pre-selector. I've used this probably 25 times since january. No hards.

that is not what I meant. The BOA form only looks to see if you have a standing offer from BOA. It does not in real time access your credit as a soft or hard; unless you apply then it will be the hard way.

Thanks for catching my lack of clarity LOL. I wouldn't want anyone to think the "no soft pull" meant it was a hard to check for offers.

:o Good one!
Also, someone said you can't use the Amex selector if you already have an Amex card.
Not sure if that is true with the other banks.

Does the AMEX card selector trigger F/R?

LOL :
