APPROVING BANK : Wells Fargo Dealer Services
BUREAU PULLED: Experian
CREDIT SCORE: 577
CUSTOMER STATE OF RESIDENCE: California
NEW/USED: New
YEAR OF VEHICLE: 2011 Nissan Sentra
MILEAGE: 111
RETAIL/LEASE: Retail
AMOUNT OF LOAN: 11,212 (decided to get an extended warranty and alarm--had originally decided against)
ADVANCE PERCENTAGE: 67% I believe
TERM CONTRACTED: 72
APR/LEASE RATE: 17.99
MONTHLY PAYMENT: 255
MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: I had originally went without the extended warranty, which would have made my payment 192, but decided later on to add it. I had 4 CA (which I am paying on) and 1 CO, but I also put 8,000 down on the car. High APR but I will refinance in a year and also make extra payments! :)

new to the site, wanted to dig right in... I started lurking looking for tools I could use when negotiating at dealership, cool site.

MILEAGE 60,800

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: $1,000 down payment. Good income and several autos paid off, but Bankruptcy discharged only 9 months ago. Could have bought a more expensive car, dealer said I would be fine to buy an Expedition I was looking at that would have been 22K, but I wanted to be conservative and not get into trouble stretching myself like I did pre-bankruptcy.

RETAIL/LEASE Retail
AMOUNT OF LOAN $21,731.57
ADVANCE PERCENTAGE

TERM CONTRACTED 60

MONTHLY PAYMENT $389.98
MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: New 2011 Jeep Patriot 4x4. TU 740...7% utilization...clean but thin credit file...closed joint accounts and opened new lines post-divorce, so low revolving limits and AAoA. Approved @ 4.96% by Cap1...Online app to Ally resulted in instant denial (length at residence <1 year??)...had dealer re-submit to Ally with income verification and was approved @ 2.90%. Raised TU score from 660 to 740 over last 10 months. Purchased vehicle 1 year and 1 day after being offered a used car loan @ 21% for 84 months by Santander. What a difference a year makes.

Bonus fun fact: When I got home and looked through the factory documents, I found out the vehicle rolled off the assembly line on my birthday. Posted Image

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: Had no choice but to move now because our expanding family could NOT fit into my car!!! Credit was a little shaky because of high utilization and about 5 small medical bills. APR sucks<_< but I plan to pay down negative equity with bonus at beginning of next year, pay a little more principal each month, pay down my credit cards, and refinance! Even though I can afford it, I can't stomach having to pay that high a payment!

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: This was to get a preapproval before I go shopping/make a deal. Screwed up, though, because I just paid down a good portion of my outstanding CC balances, which should raise my score, so I should have waited until that hit my report before proceeding. I would like to get a lower rate than this, so I may be reapplying, looking at other options after my score updates, or getting my wife to cosign...

MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTARY: I had a dismissed Chapter 13 bankruptcy (dismissed, not discharged in 10/2008.) 3 Collection accounts and several charge offs. I had a car loan that was not included in the original bankruptcy that was pristine. No late payments at all. I had $4500 in equity on my trade-in for a loaded 2011 Toyota 4Runner. I could have knocked my interest rate down if I had put up an additional $3000. I went through the finance office of the Toyota Dealership in Reno, NV. They found the credit union. They then told me to come back in a year to refinance at a much lower APR. I think that my higher income and no lates on the auto loan helped. Also, using this site, in the past 3 months I have brought up my TU and EX scores by more than 50 points.
