Well, now, if you worked for myfico, you would want to get paid, right? And if your 401k invested in FICO, you'd want them to make a profit, right?

$12.76 was way too expensive. FI is out of their minds charging this kind of money in this environment.

I'll take $12.76 anyday versus $19.95 the standard price (which is almost $40.00 for both scores from EQ and TU).

nobody should buy the TU score sold by myfico as it is a prehistoric FICO score that few lenders use.

So what should we use? What are lenders using & how do we get acesses to it?

I doubt it really matters THAT much. I can't imagine the statisticians at TU changing their algorithm so much that the TU98 version is off by any significant figure. It's probably more of a fine tuning difference and any variation in your score is likely to be marginal at best.

it does matter. $20 for a score that no lender uses is a waste of money. And there are well documented major differences between the 98 version and newer incarnations. go ahead and waste your money; I will continue to assert nobody should but the TU score sold by myfico.com.

good tip
i've been waiting for a discount code so I can check my TU score.I guess i'll pass and just wait to see how this mycreditplan.org thing goes

I just don't understand why someone should have to PAY for their credit score in the 1st place. In this age of identity theft and such, it should be provided free once a year or even quarterly.....are We the People going to ever stand up??

This is a complete travesty......

Well, there is a similar protection in place to that which you are advocating. I believe it is mandated in FACTA, which is the update to FCRA (someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm new...) but it only mandates that you have free access to your credit report not your credit score. The report is far more valuable than the score. Sure, it would be nice to know your credit score too, but I certainly understand why they are allowed to charge for access to that. Afterall, they are not a governmental agency but rather private corporations. Surely they can't be expected to provide everything for free.

I want to refinance my house (30 yr @ 5% in 2010 down to 15 yr now) since my credit score has improved. My Score Watch subscription expired a few months ago, and when I logged in to sign back up, the price has gone back up significantly. I can't find any working coupon codes. Does anyone have a current coupon code for the annual subscription (regular $149.95) or for the monthly that would make it less than that?

Thanks!

So, myfico.com, discount codes and Walmart cardholders aside, is there an actual way for end-consumers to directly acquire the TransUnion Fico Score that matters, today?

Thanks for the info! I like ScoreWatch because it immediately alerts me of changes and I can track my scores vs. what's being reported. I'll check out the DCU link, but am still really interested in ScoreWatch if anyone has a suggestion. Thanks again!

so? the TU score sold by myfico should not ever be bought by consumers. so in effect, myfico only provides EQ too...

:swoon:

I used to think it was just a southern thing, but they had them in CO when I was working there and I've seen a few up north. It's what us po' folk eat when we don't feel like doing some home cookin'.

Edit - you must be in one of the 8 states unfortunate not to have CB. Hmm.. wait, there's another CB I love.

Had to check out this CB thingy.

There's one way on the North side of town, and one way on the West side of town.

Went to the Northside one.

Decent lunch for $12 after tip.
